I don't know what it is about him, but the way he lectures makes it easy to retain the information. His tests are straight forward. Lots of clicker questions. He made this a very enjoyable class.

Wonderful prof. Follows the syllabus to the T. Lectures are typically interesting so GO TO CLASS and be on time since he does iclickers. Also, you get a participation grade so not going to class will hurt you. Read beforehand to get a good chance at getting the iclicker questions correct which means extra credit added to your overall exam grade yay

Sounds a lot like Jack Nicholson, so that's awesome. Seriously though, this prof knows his stuff and makes solid interdisciplinary connections. He will not just be reading ppts and will give you interesting lectures. Understand why the graphs work as they do and you will pass every test. The online homework is pretty easy. Need iclicker. Great Prof

Most of the test material comes from the lectures, and he gives clear cut study guides, which he goes over online the night before the test. The power point notes and extra material are all posted online for review. His lectures are interesting and he can be pretty funny. I'd definitely take the class again.

I find that he's very interesting to listen to, since his personality is quite great and he's very knowledgeable on the subjects he lectures on. We have iclicker questions almost everyday, which help understand some concepts. Tests aren't that easy, but if you know and understand the concepts as well as some specifics, you will do fine.

Great class! He's very nice and clearly knows his material very thoroughly - he never hesitated when students asked questions. For quizzes make sure you understand the graphs well.

I'm a science major and took this class as an easy elective but I was wrong. He's a really nice guy but the class is harder than it needs to be for a 1000 level class. Tests are very concept based and annoying. Attendance is mandatory and checked with a clicker. Personally, I'd find something a little less time consuming.

Think critically/conceptually for his tests. Understand EVERY picture/diagram/GRAPH and go to every class. There's participation points for clicker questions (very similar to test questions) and you do weekly labs (which should help your grade-put effort into your answers, i.e. full sentences, semi-detailed) which help your grade. Prof is relaxed.

Great professor, he is very interested in making you understand the material. Lectures are made interesting and tests are easily predictable if you memorize his notes (SPECIALLY THE GRAPHS AND DIAGRAMS). He takes time from his schedule to do a 2hr review before each test which are sooo very helpful! I highly recommend him. TIP: RECORD CLASSES!

Great professor. He want the student to understand the concept and doesn't nitpick on silly details or examples. Tests are not easy, but they are passable if and only if you understand the concept clearly. Very helpful and doesn't mind talking an extra 15 minutes for you to clarity if you need it. I love the way he teaches. Thank you.

PROF. WEISHAMPEL IS A VERY GOOD TEACHER. HE IS VERY ARTICULATE AND TRIES TO MAKE ECOLOGY INTERESTING AND RELEVANT. HIS TESTS AREN'T EASY BREEZY BECAUSE HE WANTS YOU TO BE ABLE TO THINK CRITICALLY BASED ON WHAT YOU'VE LEARNED. THIS CLASS SHOULD NOT BE UNDERESTIMATED. IF YOU STUDY AND TAKE IT SERIOUSLY (LIKE ORGANIC), YOU CAN DO WELL.

May have been just my experience but he was a bit difficult to talk to. Very brusque. Needed class to graduate. Worked my butt off to get a D. Will not be taking again. Some people seemed to have loved him.

Professor Weishampel is such a great professor! His exams are super easy as long as you study. Make notecards from his review and you will do awesome. There are four tests and one final exam, no busy work. He is willing to help whenever you need it, and he does a chat session before the test! Take his class!

This guy is great. Funny lectures combined with interesting subject-matter makes for a good class. Attendance is mandatory (checked with participation), but I found myself wanting to go to this class. The tests are also easy if you do the study guides, which he helps with anyway. I very rarely used the textbook, and came out with an A.

he's completely awesome. interesting, nice, funny,& almost cute because his personality is so great. you learn a lot and barely realize it because the class is fun. tests are a little difficult because many of the answers are similar. i will be sad when the class is over :( and im dreading signing up for next semester without it.
