Took online class and truly loved his teaching methods. He has the whole semester prepared for you ahead of time. Always there to answer questions and spend extra time to make sure you understand the material. He provides slides, live audio, and lots of resources. Amazing!!!

I took his ONLINE class, FALL 2016. He's a good professor. Easy to understand it doesnt take long to get a hold of him. There is a lot of work in his class. There is one big assignment based on the stock market. That you will work on during the whole semester. With a huge paper due at the end.

Comment:

Duran is a good professor, he tries to be as clear as he can. This class in general had so much homework from the smart book, it is ridiculous. He assigns chapters and each chapter has at least 70 questions. They can be easy if you read all the assign chapters but having that many questions is just not necessary.

I took Prof. Duran's online BUS 10 course for the Spring. He was very clear in directions, grading, and what was expected. I really enjoyed the stock market simulation. He was also very quick to respond to questions, and wanted to make sure everyone in the class had a clear understanding of the major assignments that would be due.

Personally I did not care for this professor. I found him to be very rude and not helpful. I would have questions or did not understand the work, he would barely reply and tell you to figure it out. Or make you feel dumb in front of the class for asking a question. The course was online and in class.

If your a student looking to actually learn something in the class; i would not recommend him, he talks about everything except for the material your suppose to learn in class, sucks to say but community colleges seem to get worse instead of better with their instructors. Professor Dura spent more class time showing videos than actually teaching us about using software programs. If you are committed to receiving a good grade just do the homework. If you do not like teaching yourself DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. Every assignment is taught in the book. He does however give you a week to complete your assignments.

He is very inspiring and teaches students how to be independent. a lot of reading to learn the basics in business, but the class consist dominantly on todays business world and how it applies to us. a lot of work, but the knowledge earned will definitely pay off in the long run for anyone serious about business. i recommend to anyone who isnt lazy!

One of the easiest classes I've taken, and I took it during an 8 week shortened semester. He can be a bit unhelpful when you make a mistake, but even with that his tests are extremely easy and I had an A even without the "final report".

Does not teach you anything besides not to take him. Your grade depends on all the time in the world and the book. He gives like 1-2(30Q really long) quizzes, 1-2(100Q-200Q fill-in) homework assignments, while doing a big stock project 5 days a week. Plus, those are even the assignments that he assigns, due next class. Biggest mistake on my record.

I think he is very helpful and humorous in his classes. At first i thought he was going to be hard, and he is a critic at times ,but it is constructive critizism. I would recommend taking him in class he is very helpful, organizing, and makes learning fun. DONT BE LATE TO CLASS,he will lock the door on you.Turn assignments in on time.will learnalot

No way possible Mr. Duran can call himself a college professor. It was an online class and he had 0 responsibilites. Didnt write his own notes or exams, WebCt graded everything for him, & he used a project he recycles each semester. No help at all. Ask a question and you get a life story. No business sense at all No help. Teach yourself the class.

Took his class online. You must read chapters carefully. Tests are hard, but can take them twice. 4 writing assignments which require deep research. No final. He gives you 1 easy extra credit assignment at the start of class - You can retake one chapter test ? near the end of the semester. He responds quickly to student questions and emails.

I highly recommend not to take him. He teaches nothing in class. His topics are irrelevant to what the class is about. He doesnt't accept any e-mails and if you need help, chooses to just tell you to look at the book. Find another professor!!!!!
