Comment:

He writes so small, students had to walk up every 15min and talk pics of the board, this became routine. His lectures don't match the textbook, so studying off the textbook is not the best, but you'll have to do it anyways, just match the lecture notes with the textbook and study from the HW too. Good Lecture notes are key. Sit in the front row. GL

He is brilliant man. He makes very hard concepts seem easy. He gives you a copy of his own notes, and everything on the exam comes from the notes. Not saying discrete math is easy, but this is my second time taking it, the previous professor had me hopelessly lost. He is as gentle as a math professor can be. But he doesn't deviate from hisnote

Literally the worst unorganized professor ever. Unhelpful and rude, no organization for exams. Just tells you to study everything. He is a joke of a professor, he just knows his stuff.

Comment:

He gives many examples to make class easier, make sure to take all the notes. Exams aren't really hard just go over your notes, in fact they are almost like homework. We never used book, but I think his way of teaching by solving all the examples on board was a lot better than just reading the book! He also CURVED the grades well.

He's a great teacher! I think his tests directly reflect what he teaches in class, and he provides very thorough notes. You would never know it, but he can randomly be hilarious.

Professor Leung can be a little difficult to understand at times, but definitely not so much as to skip taking his course. His use of the book is limited to the homework assignments, but I would suggest reading the appropriate chapter before class. Tests can be extremely hard OR quite easy. He is a very fair grader, though. Good curve.

Currently,I am in 3rd Week of the course all I have to say is take the note's I am new to the course I have no back round in the subject. So I recommend do NOT miss a class. He will not reply to your emails for help. I will update after my first exam. Sit in front or you can not see his handwriting & write fast to get it all down.

MAKE SURE YOU GO TO CLASS AND TAKE NOTES, IF YOU DONT GET NOTES FROM SOMEONE ELSE OR YOU WILL NOT PASS THIS CLASS. Make sure to sit in the front of the class because his handwriting is hard to understand. Good luck.

Reasonably good prof. Thick accent, but has good speaking skills to make up for it. Answers all questions, and really knows his stuff. Much of his teaching is not from the book though, so notes are important. Material kind of felt irrelevant to modern computers though; I don't really feel like I learned anything useful.

Leung's exams are straight from the notes you take in class. We NEVER used the textbook. As long as you go to class and literally memorize ALL your notes, you can easily do well in this class. If you don't take notes or don't have access to someone else's, you have no chance.

The material he teaches is almost old as he is. Easy A, but you wont learn anything useful. Somebody needs to tell him to update his notes. For his complexity class the book is like 30 years old, and so are his notes. Terrible!

easy grading if u can reproduce his lectures word for word in the exams..and tats not difficult..slight hiccup in the problems but make sure u practise them with your own values and not make any silly mistakes..take the course..get an A

His lectuers are good. Exams are unfair as they are based on memorization rather than understanding of the material. You could do well on the exam without understanding the material. Big class and students cheat.

He made this course much more difficult than necessary. He explains subjects from a very high level as if we already knew the material. I would avoid him.
