Comment:
I took Sal for one of he most difficult courses to get through because it was theory. Although the material was super dry, the classroom conversations were very informative. I would be lying if I said his class is easy but its also not hard. It's very challenging. I did not get the best grade but I wouldn't hesitate to take his class again.

He is the hardest teacher at the school, in my opinion. However, he pushes students hard because he knows they have it in them. If you want to have a chalenging but amazing experience, tale this class.

sal was one of the top 5 teachers/professors in my life! sal's classes were critical in allowing me to maintain the tolerant, considerate, and cooperative world-view that I've been able to maintain and build upon even during the past 7 years of reactionary, right-wing socio-political-economic turmoil. Thank you sal!

Comment:
This class is basically a therapy session/indoctrination/self-help seminar where the class is basically an excuse for the prof. to lecture you about why you should be a post-modernist. The coursework alternates between statements that are outrageously false or outrageously trivial. Either way, act as if you are enthralled and your grade will rise.

Comment:
Very dogmatic. The class is a seminar where you are told how to think about the material rather than a forum for different ideas being expressed. The coursework is huge and most of it is pretty obscure post-modern drivel for academics who think of themselves as being cutting edge. If you seem enthusiastic, you might get to join Sal's fan club.

Comment:
Really smart prof., but the texts for most classes tend to be extremely poorly written. That is to say, many of the major works of contemporary gender studies do not merit preservation because they are written for a tiny academic elite that can stomach bad writing. They need to translate everything or try to communicate exclusively through art. Also, a problem with sal is that he tends to be surrounded by a cadre of sycophantic teacher's pets who "get it" and want to be petted and cooed over.

Comment:
Yes, Sal is very stimulating and witty. However, Sal is also very dogmatic and tends to run classes with far too much emotion. Sal literally cried in disgust at some of the comments made by students. Also, if you want to get a decent grade amisst the tons of coursework, be sure to regurgitate Sal's views. No independent thinking aloud.

sal is incredible, but yes if you socially or economically conservative you are not going to like what sal has to say, and if you try to argue you are most likely going to be proven wrong, so unless you think you can match sal's wits I wouldn't take him on, --> not afraid to tell you what he thinks.
