Back again with STAT350B summer review. 350B has homework instead of quizzes, but still 2 exams. Video quality still the same. She drops 1 homework out of 7. She explains the material decently. Start the project early. Majority of the class requires Minitab (free bc class license). You need the textbook for hw, I didn't read it much.

Took STAT 350A with her in summer. Lectures weren't excellent but did get the job done. Weekly quizzes on fridays (weeks 1, 2, 4, 5), and an online midterm (week 3 weekend), and an in-person (but on computer) final, week 6. Class is basically a repeat of STAT 250.

Taken online during summer. The videos are TERRIBLE: dry, bad audio quality (high pitched voice), annotations made with mouse (hard to read sometimes). Homework was optional, but had weekly quizzes. Goes over some things in too much detail sometimes, and glazes over other things. I don't recommend the online summer classes (350A and 350B).

Not a mac friendly class. Minitab doesn't "work" with apple laptops. She wanted us to download some software that was so big (60 GB) just so we could use minitab if we have macs and not pc's. She's still a good professor, it's just that this class was difficult because of minitab and my MacBook.

I took her for 350A as well. She will make you work hard, but has clear expectations. She is fair and is easily accessible outside of class if you have questions. She posts all of her lecture slides online. If you learn them, do the homework and know the concepts she says to learn for the tests, you'll do fine. Her exams make up most of the grade.

Taken online. The whole class grade was 4 quizzes (15% of the grade), two midterms (40%), and a final (35%). The tests are a lot like the quizzes and are a majority multiple choice. You get a cheat sheet though, so if you write all of the formulas on it you'll be alright.

Overall you're the professor in this course, there's not really any point to have it be a hybrid course since the weekly review session is condensed on the material. Tries to teach how to use statistical software which she claims is optional except she spent the better part of a few lectures teaching it. Final is worth too much of your grade.

She is a great teacher but if you think Stats is easy, this class will be boring for you. The video quality is pretty bad which makes the teachers voice more high pitched than normal which hurts my ears. No joke. You will learn a lot if u care enough to sit through these videos. You pretty much can't pass if you don't watch every video.

I agree w/ 1/4/17 post. Also 2 MTs 20% each, 4 online quizzes (9-10 MCs, 1 free wrong answer) w/ lowest dropped 15%. Final: 2 free wrong MCs. Be careful on MC part of MTs; each one is 7/100 points. You can put anything on the cheatsheets, even examples. Potato quality sound in videos but good explanations. Only need to go to class 0-1 times/week.

Thought it was unfair to have a final worth 45% of the grade but I ended up doing good on it and it raised my grade. Study, do homeworks, watch lectures on time so you don't get behind and so you don't have to cram for midterms and finals. Overall the class was fine. Material was mostly review from 250. If you need help go to office hours!!

Taken during the summer. Text required for problems she gives solutions to. She leaves a text for rent in the library so use your phone to take pics of the problems and save money. Its easy if you've taken stats250. 4 quiz, 1 midterm, 1 exam. Google answers to some problems. Do the hw problems and youll be fine. Got a B- for half assing.

Straightforward class and grading. It helps to sit in on the online lectures to understand what is going on, but you don't have to. She designs the lecture so you won't need the textbook, and vice-versa. Also, English is not her first language so be patient with her accent. Learn Minitab and you're golden!

Class consisted of 2 midterms(20% each), 6 homeworks(15% total) and final(45%). Tests were easy since u can use cheatsheets :) but some questions were vague and confusing. Book used for HW but hated the notations and vagueness on it. Ok professor but she depends too much on the tb which i disliked. Overall good and somewhat easy class, i got an A

You need the book for homeworks... but you can read on your own if you want, I just got lucky I found people to study and do homework with... the solution manual will be helpful for homework! if you know your homework you are good for the tests... also you can have cheat sheets which helped me a lot... write tiny so u can fit a lot!

I was so happy with this teacher! Her lectures are clear, the homework is relevant to the exams. She allows a page of notes to be used per exam. There was a project that was a little difficult, but she'll help you during office hours. She's very generous in her grading. Highly recommended!

Dr. Fan is a great professor! She really knows her stuff and explains it perfectly. The tests were very reasonable, especially since you get notes and she gives a practice test. Great class I hope I have her for future stats classes!

Easy class. Good teacher. Homework really helps reinforce the lectures. Exams are not difficult at all if you understand the homeworks. One page of notes for 1st exam, 2 for 2nd, 3 for final. Easy A.
