Comment:

Avoid taking Covington at all costs. You will not pass if you're not automatically great at the math she "teaches." She is completely unapproachable, inconsistent with her work, and will never own up to any of her flaws. Instead, she'll take it out on the students. There is no teaching and she gives zero feedback. Take it at BPCC if you can.

This class is way too hard for a 100 level math class. The homework is long and she grades it like a test and gives you no feedback so you cant use it to study. She is very picky and docks points for weird reasons. She doesnt even teach, she breaks you up into groups hoping you will teach yourself. I was warned about her before. Take it at BPCC.

Study Ask Questions! This is not a class you can pass by doing the minimum. You must do presentatins, Problems and Homework. Everthing she takes for a grade could be the difference between passing and failing. I made an D, B and C on her three test and a B on the final . Did all mu homework and got 9/10 of the Problems Correct. Do Everthing !!!!

At first the class may seem very hard, but she is extremely helpful. I have spent many hours in her office and she will explain it several different ways until you understand what she wants. The test are almost exactly like the worksheets. Study...study..study! Stay on top of gold and blue sheet problems as well.

Absolutely horrible. She is EXTREMELY RUDE. Very sarcastic and very unhelpful. Don't bother emailing her or coming to her office. You wont receive any help. The class is easy and even a baby could understand it, but it isn't worth the rudeness of the teacher.

I took Covington for both 127 and 217 and I am glad I did. She made you think about things like you are teaching it to a child. The class is hard if you don't do the homework. The test questions are straight from the homework. She won't just give you the answer she will lead you to the answer. You will have to think in this class.

I know people type on here just mean things about teachers they don't like. But for your sanity, don't take her. Take Wanda Huhn instead. Judith Covington is one of the nicest women out there, but she is seriously one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. Her tests are extremely hard and it doesn't matter how much you study.Just don't take her

I actually liked her and didn't have too much trouble in the class. I made a B. The gold sheet problems are very difficult though. There's a reason for that. I had no trouble understanding her, so I'm not sure why all the bad comments. Take noted and do the homework! You'll do fine. Tests are straight from homework!

This professor will answer your emails & work with you in certain situations but her overall lectures are hard to understand. She talks almost the entire class time but little can be retained, as if she's talking in circles. Nice lady but it's just too much to try to decipher what she's trying to explain.

SHE IS HORRIBLE! The structure of her class is unorthodox with only about 20/30 minutes being devoted to lecture. Is not a good communicator and seems unopen to answer questions in class and in office. Content is not the easiest and it takes alot of time that you will have to do with a tutor or classmate bc she is not unapproachable & unresponsive.

DO NOT TAKE HER! I took her my first semester at LSUS and I must say the whole class except for 3 people got a F. I took her for Math for Elementary School teachers and if we didn't explain answers the way she thought we should we got it wrong even if the actual answer was correct. Horrible experience..

Makes an easy class complicated and incomprehensible. Is unprepared, disorganized, and unapproachable. Ridicules people who ask questions, which was the most reprehensible in my mind. She clearly does not want to be teaching, and takes it out on anyone who needs to be taught. On top of all that, the textbook is poorly written and contains errors.

She's never prepared for class, and doesn't work out any problems in advance. So her explanations of homework are mixed up and full of backtracking, and her test questions sometimes invalid. She's confusing enough you'd probably do better NOT attending - if attendance weren't required and pop quizzes weren't frequent.
