Prof Fernan is a great Speech teacher. She makes the class interesting and really makes you feel like welcomed. She gives great feedback on speeches and really tries to get the best out of you

I have her this semester and she's honestly great! She's very inspirational and gives good advice and feedbacks. She truly wants you to do well in her class, don't take advantage tho. Highly recommend her. Her test are usually true of false with a few multiple choice and a few short response.

Comment:

Prof. Fernan is amazing professon. Although she takes FOREVER to grade speeches, you get feedback after each speech you do. We had 5 speeches + one ungraded one. She usually gives midterm and final, but we didn't have time for that. You feel really comfortable speeking in that class even if you are not into speeches. Highly recommended!

Professor Fernan is awesome! She's honestly the best speech professor on campus. Her grading is very straight forward and she gives a lot of feedback. I took her 7:30 class and loved having her class to wake up to in the morning.

Comment:

She has a clear grading criteria. She is very friendly and understanding. Even if you are not comfortable with public speaking she makes it fun and not an impossible task. She gives very good feedback. She gives clear instructions and gives a good amount of time for you to prepare for a speech. I would definitely recommend her.

Her class is easy which is a plus, but she talks about herself a whole lot and makes her come off conceited. It's very irritating sometimes. Class is really really easy. The test is a lot of vocabulary. You'll be fine. You won't stress over this at all.

Shs is the best you can get when it comes to speech! While some will say she comes off as a know-it-all, I see it as her being very passionate about the material and wanting us to succeed. She's honest. She tells you exactly what she's looking for in every speech, and doesn't have crazy requirements. One (easy)bmidterm, so make sure you take notes.

Prof. Fernan was honest and not afraid to speak her mind. She was into the material and made the entire class participate in group activities. There were very few tests and they usually consisted of true or false and some short answers. She also cancelled a few classes, so check your email before each class.

Nice lady if she loves your class, if she doesn't she wont be afraid to let you know. She was absent a lot and takes absolutely forever to give back grades. Also thinks she knows everything on earth when she critiques your speeches so don't think you can just fly something by her that isn't factual

I want my money back! I paid good money for this class; Eng 090 01. I can honestly say that a on line coarse would have been better. Fernan was late and missed a few classes. I had to take her class, the other classes were full. I wish I waited a term. I didn't get anything from her. I pretty much did it all myself.

I absolutely loved having her and if I had to take other speech classes I would want her. She recognizes that public speaking isn't everyone's strong suit and adapts her grading to that fact. Day to day class is basically just listening to her discuss elements of different kinds of speeches and relevant stories. Best speech professor at SJU!!

Prof. Fernan barely came to class. She never gave us feedback on the speeches, so we did not know where we messed up and can improve ourselves. She took forever to grade the speeches. Bought a textbook and never used it. Never taking her again.

shes friendly and kind. class isnt the most interesting, but speeches are fun if you get creative with it. she takes a very very long time to give grades back. process of her class: describes next speech and due date, gives a bunch of notes, spend a few classes on speeches, after theyre all done asks class to analyze them. i enjoy it. No textbook for this class. Some notes. Perfect if you hate public speaking like me. She really tries to get you into it and has a very cool approach. Great speech topics and the class is like 20 people so it is a great class size to start off learning.

If you have to take Speech, TAKE HER! Sure you have to show up, but she's so nice. She really cares for her students. Be prepared to take notes and discuss things in class. She has a cool approach- I used to hate talking in front of people before her but she used media to help. Perfect if you hate speech. Be prepared to have two easy exams though.

TAKE HER! ASSIGNS SPEECHES EVERY TWO WEEKS. ONLY TWO EXAMS THAT REQUIRE THOUGHT AND ANALYSIS. MUST UNDERSTAND READINGS TO PASS EXAMS. OVERALL ATTENDANCE IS NECESSARY BUT IS APPROACHABLE & COOL. SHE'S HOT BUT THINKS SHE KNOWS EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN. ALSO, LAUGHS AT HER OWN CORNY JOKES...GO ALONG WITH A CHUCKLE AND SMIRK.
