Comment:
I took Prof. Lejnieks' class quite a few years ago but a little surprised by some comments here. Unlike a lot of Poli Sci classes, I thought his lectures were actually structured to teach the fundamentals of IR in a pretty systematic way, and that exams reflected that. Essays were carefully read & evaluated. Overall I thought he was a great prof.

Dispenses information easily and with clarity. good lecture outlines, everything broken down in section, subsection etc. clear, precise speaking voice. gives direct answers, uses everyday English, no big words, no fancy phrasing. take his class.

A definite example with what is wrong with post secondary education. Join his lick spittle crew and you'll get a chance at a good mark. It's all about the politics of Bill!

A really good professor. I disagree with most of the comments here - I disagreed with his politics, but never found that I had to write what he thought to succeed. I'm a girl, and never found him at all creepy, either. ATTEND SEMINARS!

It's a course you can get a lot out of, especially from classmates. Seminars are the key to doing well on the exams. TOUGH exams, but doable if you plan to put in lots of effort. Girls, do maintain distance. I'd disagree in saying that you have to parrot his opinion, but you do HAVE to mention things he considers important. You'll love or hate him.

Agree with a lot of the other comments, overall he is a good prof and really knows his stuff. ATTEND SEMINAR! Exams are mainly based on the seminar questions and when he says to pay attention to a certain event - do it, it will be on the exam! If you work hard you'll do good.

Totally agree with "write what he wants to read". Very preachy, which is fine I suppose if you are looking for that sort of thing. But, honestly hope this isn't the only IR class someone takes as is quite one-sided.

This guy is very good and can teach you how to think critically about IR. Go to the seminars and pay attention as lots of the short answer on his exams are based on this. I also enjoyed his sense of humor and while he may have a thing for pretty young girls I don't think he is condescending

Girls need to be careful...he can get way to close when talking to the female members of his class which kind of creeps us all out. Lectures are interesting but his exams are killer! Read current events and you might pass the midterm.

This was a very interesting and informative class...but for all the wrong reasons. The class was hijacked by grad students with Straussian/religious right wing political axes to grind. Nuke Em' All? Sorry, not gonna work.

The lectures are good, but he preaches too much (Note: both he and I consider ourselves realists). His marking is very hard: you need to think what his opinion is and structure your argument on that. Feedback on essays sucks, and he ignores most emails.

Awesome. Challenges you on your opinions. forces you to support them and learn more, or really question what yo think you know. doesn't subsribe to all the fashionable sh*t they usually teach up there. Thinks about IR sensibly

This prof. has increadably high standard that often seems unattainable. He is condesending to students and makes people feel they are 1 inch tall. Knows his stuff, but you never will ( or you'll feel that way at least)
