I dont think she knows how to engage her students. So easy to fall asleep. She doesn't let you know whats going to be on the tests and wont give us hints or really go over anything. WORST CLASS AND BORING PROFESSOR EVER

this class is super easy. she gives extra credit and two homework assignments, one major research paper and a trip to the art museum . quizzes and exams aren't hard if you study the lecture notes. would recommend this class. however, its SUPER easy to fall asleep . this was a constant struggle for me. but overall, easy class.

Aside from the pretentious art majors in the class, I thoroughly enjoyed this class. Never taken an art history class in my life and I'm glad I took this one. Explains the material very clearly. Taken careful notes both from PPT and whatever she's saying. 2 x exams, 2 x quizzes, and 1 museum project.

Comment:

Karen is a jewel. Her style of teaching is way easy to understand if you can remember your notes. She teaches off her slides and mentions some test questions by repeating some things. She hands out a study guide that helps a lot. And the final is practically the same as the rest of her tests. Non-cumulative, so don't stress. Very easy if you study.

PRO.ROBERTS IS AN EASY TEACHER BUT EXTREMELY BORING. FOUND IT HARD TO STAY AWAKE, DUE TO THE FACT THAT SHE READS TO THE CLASS STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOOK. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE WHO IS NOT INTERESTED IN ART.SHE MAKES ART SEEM BORING. AND THE TEST ARE ALL THE SAME CONCEPT AND ARE ALSO BORING AND DOESN'T SEEM TO TEACH ANYTHING.

I loved this teacher! She's really nice, and definitely knows her stuff, always willing to answer questions and very understanding. This class is really good for Art History majors and general ed students alike. My favority art history teacher so far. :D I received an A.. Great class.

WONDERFUL TEACHER! Really knows her material, willing to answer questions, very understanding. I really enjoyed this class, and she gives you many diff avenues for subject matter on the final paper. I recommend her! Just show up, listen, take notes, review, write the paper, and it's all good. I got an A. If you have any problems just talk to her. :

After hearing about all the bad reviews, I was forced into her class. But she was extremely nice, and I believe she changed her cirriculum. All you need to do is understand her terms, show up on time, and review over her study guide. You rarely have to bring the book at all but its good to read it over after class, good A for me, enjoyed it alot :)

sorry to say but i never knew art history could be SO confusing!! her lecture are boring, all she does is post a slide and talk about like EVERYONE in the class knows whats its about. the book is just as confusing as she is.

She rambles on and on and on.... extremly boring. and u only need the book for the essays. She's a hard grader considering shes not a very good teacher. But in the end not that bad. If you like knowing your grade, dont bother... 2 tests and one project at the end of the semester. thats it.

When she lectures, sometimes it is easy to understand what she says, but sometimes you can lost track of her. She grades too hard, especially on writing portion of the test. Be aware of museum report, people. If you choose wrong artwork, you will have hard time to get an A.
