If you don't know how to Draw, you still won't after this class. This class was a history through every art technique except beginner drawing. 10mins is about the average time to duplicate famous paintings before she ask's if everyone is ready to move on...i asked for tips on how to do something, she suggested tracing it! Not a joke, Trace it.

I took the six hour class on Mondays. She's nice and laid back. She always goes around and asks if you need help or if you're doing good. She's played movies during class,lights were always dim. You have to present often,not very strict on that, but get used to it. Final project is presented and major part of grade.

If you have propensity for art you will love her class! She is not a control freak & does not judge your art (a Plus) but fills class w fun, art movies, images, & shows u how to do all projects! She is the best art teacher I feel at AVC! She made me love art again. You just do the art assignments though & she will not judge your creativity or work.

Loved this class tremendously. You have to do all the syllabus work, plus you have a chance to create extra credit through extra projects. Some of the students though, do not want to do them. She is very encouraging and you learn alot with her! She's fun, helps develope your artistic talents, expands your cultural and artistic knowledge & nice!

I loved Katie's teaching style. While I understand some of the other student's comments, I think it boils down to you have to do the things in class in order to LEARN how to draw. I learned so much and while some things were boring for me to do, they still helped my technique. Loved the variety of assignments, especially the collages.

this class is so boring! i took her for spring 2009, she doesn't teach, just shows slides and says do this. only helps those who ask for it. the class is supposed to be 6 hours but we only stay 4 hours. and its so hard to stay just for that. easy A but not worth it if you want to learn something. and she can't draw..why is she teaching this class??

she's a terrible teacher, she doesn't really tell you to do anything. No one in her class really learns how to draw, and she can't draw to save her life. Why is this woman teaching this class? TOTAL WASTE OF TIME.
