Comment:

Larissa is an amazing teacher, for someone who actually wants to learn and be there. I have taken 3 classes with her, and if you get to know her she really cares about her students. She just happens to be no nonsense, which is something a lot of people cannot deal with. I appreciate her for the no nonsense approach, makes for fewer distractions.

Comment:

Larissa is NOT for the faint of heart. She's extremely rude and condescending and will make you feel stupid in front of the entire class at least once. Personally, I would never take a class with her again purely because of her god-awful attitude. That being said, if you do the reading & put in effort, you will pass.

Horrible, horrible teacher. She knows her stuff, but is very rude, the tests cover material she never went over, is unwilling to help, makes you feel stupid for not being able to answer a question, and makes you rush through your test. Avoid at all costs!

Horrible prof! She is rude and disrespectful. I asked her a question and she personally attacked me. I am a straight 'A' history student. Do not take this prof. She failed to have a forum were students could post and ask questions and in her worksheet of questions she failed to ask 1 of the 4 questions. She just rambled and didn't ask a question.

Larissa is a very sweet women. She has an accent, but it can be overcome. Sometimes the sarcasm goes a little too far, which I believe some people find offensive.It doesn't help matters that the people in her class are allowed to get into bickering matches during discussions(that don't usually pertain to the exam)Prepare to read the book!

To any students who may be reading my comment, please understand that if you have a true desire to learn something about why we are the way we are, then Westernn Civ. I would say she is a poor teacher, but I have not witnessed her teach anything yet. Quite possibly the worst instructor (I use the term loosely) I have ever had! Do not waste your time, her class is worthless.

Do not take on-line. Exam jumps around. She was very sarcastic when asking for help online. Almost failed the class regardless of how hard i tried. Failed 3 of 4 exams but luckily did good on the assignments.

Larisa is Romanian and has a thick accent. If you can't understand someone from the Deep South don't expect to understand her. She doesn't care about your excuses for not going to class unless you have proof it was an emergency. If you're into history she can drive you crazy but you'll still learn plenty. In short, her classes are not for the weak.

WORST TEACHER EVER! She interrupted me three times in the middle of a powerpoint presentation. Makes remarks that are unaccectable in class. She really just sucks and should not be able to teach at JCC. She is always off topic, and never went over a thing for our tests. Never take a class with her!!

Anybody who has an interest in anthropology should NOT take this class. She will totally disinterest you with her random babbling about seemingly nothing. Her accent and fast talking dialect will have you more lost than a michigan fan at an ohio state convention. I do not recommend this teacher.

The worst teacher I have ever came across. Interrupts students while in the middle of presentations which lowers the over all grade. Does not have the common sense needed to hold a teaching position.
