Prof Dimock is adorable!!!! One of the best classes I have taken at York was with her. Her TA's are also very helpful. She makes sure you do well in her class. You should definitely take her class. I could not afford the textbook but this course was made so easy by her that I didn't even need it.

She's a really good lecturer but doesn't do powerpoint slides. She does put notes on Moodle that you can access for the lectures to build on your own notes.... the only way to succeed is to seriously take notes during lectures (like word for word as she's talking) so you can ace the essays. There was no final exam, just a standard paper...

I got an A+... maybe b/c I participated a lot in tutorials.... but regarding the lectures, the professor is hilarious and explains philosophical concepts in a delightful way. The lectures weren't dull but you really got to pay attention in any philosophy course to grasp the main point of whatever philosopher you're studying in order to get an A.

She is amazing. She has an ability to explain hard philosophical concepts in a way that anybody could understand. Her assignments & final were very fair. My TA (Al) was awesome too. If you go up and talk to her, you'll see that she is actually a super nice lady & she very much cares about students (she even gave me the textbook for free - so nice!)

Susan is extremely helpful and understanding. When asking for an extension for an assignment, she is more than willing to grant it. She was an absolutely incredible professor. If you go to her classes you can get an A without reading the book. She puts her notes online (3-4 point form notes completely summarizing the whole chapter). The class actually made me change my major to Philosophy so I can become a lawyer. She's extremely intelligent and very understanding, I LOVED her!

This is by far one of if not THE BEST prof I ever had! Extremely fair,well organized, excellent lectures! Even though PHIL is not my major I intent to take any course she offers. Do your reading prior to the lectures, attend the lectures and revise...You'll do great! She is very kind and fair towards her students.

Dimock rocks. She takes ridiculously complex ideas and explains them in a way that is easy for anyone to get. She makes class interesting and has a confidence that makes you really trust what she's saying. She is very knowledgeable and I would recommend all of her courses to people. =]
