Comment:

Professor Skou is a very sweet person who truly cares about her students and is very passionate about law. Lectures were a little boring in the beginning, but got better as the semester progressed with more participation from the students. She clearly outlines what you need to know for the 2 midterms and final. Homework pass/fail if you hand it in.

Comment:

This class is difficult. She prepares you extremely well for the department final. You will have to recite laws and statutes but by then it's repetition from all the practice in lecture and assignments. She also does a lot of office hours reviews. Law is not my major, but I appreciated what I learned for possible future applications.

Comment:

AVOID AVOID AVOID, any other professor and I would have at least gotten an A- but she grades her test like you suppose to recite every single thing perfectly. There is like four questions per test and she deducts 5 points off per error per question so your grade really tanks fast. Also don't even bother with the extra credit, she doesn't bump grade

Comment:

Prof. Skou is one of the best professors I've ever had. She is the nicest lady ever, and is very approachable. She will warn you about a difficult quiz, but as long as you go over handouts from class and skim the chapters in the text you will be fine. Midterm and final are a handful of problems similar to those in the textbook, know your statutes

Comment:

HONEST REVIEW Professor Skou is a great professor and understands her own material very well. Her PowerPoint Slides are very effective in teaching and her teaching methods are efficient as well. She does her best to teach her students about law but at times makes this course feel much more than just an intro course so be prepared to put in effort.

Not an easy professor, however she is the model for what professors should be. She loves her job and the material. It shows. She will meet with you one on one whenever to help you understand the material and she's very good at explaining it. You will work hard. Law is hard. But take this professor and put in the work and you won't be sorry.

She is one of the nicest teachers and she tries every absolute way to teach the students all about Business Law. I had no clue sometimes about the material and attending her review sessions before an exam really does help because it's a one-on-one experience. More teachers like her are needed!!!

Comment:

Professor Skou understands the deep concepts pertaining to law. Her explanations of why particular rules exist are essential in understanding the subject. She also gives good studying advice for upcoming tests. The 3 hour Friday courses were difficult but definitely choose her if you get the chance.

Law is hard and a lot of reading is mandatory. Professor Skou had her own notes which made it easier. She only has one quiz, one midterm and a final. She goes over the additional problems in class and is more than willing to help. She has a funny sense of humor and makes the long 3 hour class seem worth it. Definitely take her!

Professor Skou is amazing! Not only did she hold countless review sessions for the exams, she was willing to go over the tiny details of each topic several times to make sure we understood everything. She was really encouraging to the students. Her exams were very fair and she told us exactly what to study. Law is hard but she made it super clear.

Professor Skou is so nice and she makes a lot of time to hold multiple review sessions. I liked her and her methods of teaching. The only complaint I would have is about the class- which was 3 hours long on a Friday

Although Professor Skou is extremely nice, she is also BORING. When describing topics, she talks EXCESSIVELY about non-sense that does not matter. She is always available outside which is a plus.

Prof Skou is the sweetest and most knowledgable person for the job. She holds review sessions for the midterm and final and is also available outside the classroom as long as you let her know beforehand. Law itself is a pretty hard course because of how much material and rules you have to memorize. Read the chapter summaries and her notes.

I had a bad experience with her. She accidentally dropped me and took 2.5 months to put me back on the schedule. I lost a lot of the notes from blackboard and I had to constantly ask others for stuff. I had a 90 on my quiz, 93 on my midterm and I am sure I aced the final but ended with an A-. I question her grading system. She is very nice though.

She is great at explaining material (gives helpful outlines, review sessions), but i found her grading subjective, honestly. As she said "i wont give A to everybody" - and she didnt. I received 80% for 1st quiz, 90% for 2nd quiz and 1st midterm, (she didnt reply what i got got the final), and got B+ as a final grade. Not fair!!!

She is a really helpful lady and always smile to you. If you follow her guideline you must get a good grades. She try to explain every detail in class and provide many extra tutor classes before midterm and final test. Law is really difficult. I did really bad on my first quiz and just get 50%, but I followed her every instruction get A-. If I am O

Person below me has no idea what he/she is talking about. Prof Skou is a wonderful sweet lady, who has no problem giving you private study sessions in addition to group tutoring sessions in order to help you grasp the material. She provides clear and concise notes to study from, and is very generous with grading. Take her (I got an A)!

One word. Painful. Got a B+ in the class but wasn't much to do with her. Grades the test and gives "comments" which you are unaBle to read. Gets flustered when you challenge what she says and doesn't understand what you are asking half the time because she's european. Wouldn't taker her again if you paid me... Only reason I wont get a 4.0 this sem.

Professor Skou explains things very well and will make sure your question gets answered thoroughly. You will need to memorize things from the textbook as well as the notes she puts up on Blackboard in order to do well on the exams. Overall, she is a very nice and friendly lady. Her Friday classes aren't really that bad either. Take her!

If there was a grade higher than A+ I would've given it to her. She puts so much efforts to help student understand the material, that makes hard class sooo much easier. I personaly don't like law, but her class was really interesting. One of the best prof-s in Baruch.
