Comment:

I took Wapners STATS, and IMO he is a good professor. I got a D and 2 F's on the first tests, but then 2 A's on the next two tests. It was my own fault for not studying probabilities enough, otherwise my grades would have been better. Make sure you attend EVERY class, take notes, ASK QUESTIONS, and study. He has goofy gestures which made me laugh!

Wapner is a good teacher. if you go to his office hours he will explain the material a lot better than he does while lecturing. you will have to teach yourself the material so get ready to read and to practice the problems in your textbook. but all in all he is a good professor who i would take again. just be ON TIME and participate and youll pass.

He is not a bad professor as people make him out to be. Do the homework, be in class, study and you will do fine. Drops lowest test score. Tests are short. He gives partial credit on questions that you are doing correct but ended with. The wrong answer. Honestly if you fail his class that probably means you are not doing the work.

Coming into the class I had a strong passion for math and desire to learn but that was immediately drained. Wapner is clueless when it comes to grading tests and lectures are painfully boring. I suggest you save your sanity and take a different professor.

He wasn't really a bad teacher as some are saying. Go to to class, and take as much notes as you can and you'll be fine. He lets you use a cheat sheet for every test you take which is nice. You will need the textbook for this class to do homework and you will need to turn in all the homework to pass.

Not crazy about his teaching. I love math, and professor Wapner is VERY smart, but I just felt like this class was very hard to follow. Not a structured class, hard to take good notes. He sort of jumps around everywhere and when you want to study you simply cannot rely on your notes, which can get confusing. On another note, he's hilarious!

If you study straight off the book you will fail. The "applications" he puts on the test are nowhere near to what he taught. 90% of the questions on a test will derive from the last formula of every class. One question on the test will be from the homework, that is if youre lucky.

Worst teacher I ever had. Not a good test taker so I had to take this class(Math 80). There is a difference between knowing the subject material and teaching it correctly, he knows it but he cannot teach. Most of the stuff he teacher. He intentionally make problems on the test hard and makes you fell stupid when you ask questions. DO NOT TAKE HIM!

Great teacher! Took him for Stats failed the first test and still ended up getting a B in the class because he lets you drop your lowest score! there's only 5 test and they are short! If the work seems hard it just proves you didn't study enough. His test are straight forward study hard and go to his office hours and you will be fine!

He is a really good professor. The reason for people not liking his class I assume would be because the material is really hard and he cannot magically make it any easy, it is a 5 unit class afterall. However he really helps out and encourages to get additional help if required during his office hours. I think he is a really good professor.

some stuff on the test is covered in the notes but not in the book. His lecture is boring cause he's not straight forward. if i know the material, i could explain his 5-10 min explanation into a minute. he does drop the lowest test grade and allows us to use a sheet of notes. without sheet of notes, the class is extremely hard.

He's a fair teacher after the first two weeks. His tests are short, but the questions make sense if you pay attention. Personally, I don't like the way he teaches. Although he is knowledgeable of the subject, his body language while lecturing is very close-minded. He mumbles, he puts his hands in his pockets, and he laughs at his own jokes. Meh.

If you are bad at math, then avoid him at ALL costs. He is really bad at explaining problems, and helping when you have a question. When I went to his office hours for help, he just kept reminding me of the drop date. I've never felt so stupid in a math class. If you are good at math... good luck anyway! He's a nice person, but an awful teacher.

Talks down to students who doesn't understand the work. Doesn't feel that he needs to teach anythingin this course, becuase acoording to him, its ELEMENTARY ALGEBRA you should already know! If you need help in math, DO NOT ENROLL IN HIS CLASS!! Run! I encourage everyone to run! And Im an Honers student.

If you don't get a good grade in his class you either got a really busy schedule where you are not able to study or you just pretty much a bum that doesn't want to do work. If you fail you must reconsider your educational goals or just simply be honest with yourself and realize school is not for you.

Hhe is a funny guy. However, he is very literal and seems like he is very much into humanism. He doesn't teach well. I only learned by going to his office hours and asking him for the snswerto multiple math Qs. He always wants u to go to his office hrs. So take advantage of that. At his office, he teaches like a true math professor.
