Comment:

Loved her lectures, but the grading was very unclear on the C. elegans report and resulted in a class avg of 65% for the paper (which dropped me from a B+ to a C-). She can be tough so beware (a great professor but don't expect her to hold your hand through the class). Lab + lecture is 9 hours/week, so be ready for long labs + worksheets.

Comment:

Great Professor!! Always willing to help and always tries to get students to understand the material. Be careful with the tests since they can be very detailed but following the lecture notes and lab manual will help you a lot. Labs are simple and Lab report wasn't too bad if you spread out the work. Definitely recommend her!

Comment:

I loved taking this class with Dr. Rose. She is clear, willing to help, and SO sweet. The tests and assignments were fair--I feel I really learned the material and that the coursework was an accurate reflection of what we were learning. The TAs were also awesome! I was genuinely sad after taking the final (which was really just a third midterm! :)

I love Dr. Rose. She is an awesome teacher and very clear lecturer. She presents in an outline format that is easy to understand and she is very down to earth and easy to talk to. I would definitly recommend her as a MCB160L lab instructor.

Watch out for this class, it's very conceptual and there is a lot of information thrown out as you since it is an introductory genetics class - they want to give you a taste of everything. Yet, Dr. Rose does great with teaching and pacing the material.
