Leslie's lectures can be very confusing and hard to follow. Her assignments are very unclear. No tests/quizzes. She also doesn't take attendance. Take this course at your own risk.

Leslie is very nice and I think she genuinely wants her students to take something from the class . However her work is quite plenty. She has like a 6 page paper on every religion. But she isnt strict and is a very lenient grader. No deadlines hardly. But the problem with her is that she has no structure and organization. Her class can be confusing

Just don't do it. Leslie's assignment structure is difficult to follow and manage if you're expecting clear grading criteria. Her lectures dip into borderline inappropriate territories at times, as well. In my class, she made more than a few of us uncomfortable and unnerved. You walk out of there during class break feeling exhausted and bored.

She's a very nice woman who is passionate about her subject and cares for her students. However, she seems to prefer quantity over quality because the assignments would require you to write at least 6 pages Her grading is relatively easy, and she's pretty lenient on deadlines. Her "lectures" are very much her just going on tangents about nothing.

Leslie is a great professor! However, at the beginning of the semester you will be confused. But as the semester goes on you'll get used to her teaching style. She can be disorganized at times, and what's expected of you can be hard to understand. As long as you turn in all your debates, all your journals, and show some effort, it'll be an easy A.

Comment:
Leslie's class was very confusing at first and frustrating. To put it simply, if you follow the syllabus and look on blackboard, everything you need to get an A is laid out for you. She is very considerate and caring. All you need to do is voice your (educated) opinions and put your heart into your work and you'll get a lot out of her classes.

Leslie is such a nice professor, but her class is everywhere to be honest. It got to the point i would just show up for debates, because i would come out of the class more confused. She assigns so much reading as if you dont have any other classes to study for. She does not do any power point slides at all.

Leslie is such a caring lady and would do anything to see her students succeed, but the class is just way to relaxed. The lectures aren't really lectures. It is hard to figure out what is going on in the class and the material/class is all over the place. She gives a lot of assignments and they are WAY TO LONG, but she is a very easy grader!!

Got an A but it was a bit sloppy. Very nice women and was very lenient on due dates and was always able to explain the grades you received, but if you like taking things week by week assignment by assignment, like myself, you'll find the class slightly uncomfortable. A solid pick, wants to give every student an A but you have to earn it.

Took her for HUM 141 and I was nervous at first but, it ended up being a great class. We watched a few movies and wrote a paper on them. Easy criteria for the papers. Watch the movies and take notes, you'll pass with flying colors.

you do need the book right away. she talks most of the time about the readings (take notes! you can use them for the projects) . no presentations until the last day of class. you work in groups but you don't have to talk. she never calls on you if you don't talk or participate. she understands shy people . i never had to talk in that class.

She's kind of all over the place with her lectures, and I cannot recommend her to students looking for clarity on a subject. Her grading can be very arbitrary, and she's not above redefining what things mean in order to justify her decisions. It -is- possible to get a good grade, but you might have to sit through a lot of nonsense.

I've taken two classes by her, and while I like the woman, I can see why she can be unappealing to others. If you like to follow the syllabus week to week, assignment to assignment, this class is not for you. This lady drives her bus anyway she pleases, which can lead to plenty of confusion. Overall, entertaining, passionate, and enjoyable.

A very caring and knowledgable professor. Hard to follow with the syllabus, a bit confusing but this class is mostly self-taught. When you need help she is always available to help out. Her teaching style isn't all great but the work she provides and the help she gives does a lot, show up, do your work and you will pass. Thats all there is to it.

Leslie did not put any grades up online until the class was over completely. She also never used blackboard or answered emails. Her lectures were very long and boring. She would go on random spiels about crazy things. Not much homework, but when she did give out homework: it was a lot but due within a week or two.

Leslie is such a nice woman but her teaching style did not work for me. The class is unorganized and lectures are confusing. If you do the projects you should pass. She thinks the class knows what she's talking about when in reality, most people don't. If you don't mind teaching yourself most of the material, you should be fine.

I like Hopkins as a person, she's very interesting and caring, she tries to accommodate everyone. She's very knowledgeable and I admire what she has to say. However, her class is very disorganized and sometimes hard to follow. Deadlines are tentative and there's no clear structure. Read the material, show up and you'll get an A.

This is probably one of the worst classes/professors I've ever had. Do not take her for Humanities. Her directions are very confusing, her content folder is poor of information. Many movies and little teaching. The essays that she asked were confusing and difficult to understand what she wanted. Very vague and nothing helpful.
