Comment:

For lots of work, you get not a lot in return. If you don't tell her what she wants to hear about the bible or anything else, you will fail. If you don't put pictures in your presentation, you will fail. She will tell you you're wrong on your opinion or religious belief. This is a crazy class and I have never been insulted before in college.

A ton of work for a 100 point class. some assignments worth 10 points would take me hours to complete. If you don't answer questions to match HER opinion of things she marks them wrong. BEWARE.. this is not a good class to take.

Dr. Tess does a great job of simplifying what she is talking g about so it is understandable for us newbies. She is a little delayed on responding at times, but she is a person with probably an overflowing inbox. She cares and she tries to inspire her students. She's a solid professor. Providing personal examples was the most challenging for me.

This professor is extremely opinionated and takes it out on grades. For an online class there is more homework than any of my other classes combined and if you do not answer the exams or any assignments in her opinion of things you will fail. Does not give good feedback and all lectures are recorded so you sit listening to voice with no text.

I took this class online thinking it would be an easy A. When the class started she started by saying, if you can't give 20 minutes a day for this class then it is not for you. The assignments she gives & the work she expects for it is no where close to 20 minutes a day. Sometimes they would take me an entire day. Too much work for 100 point class

Very interesting prof, lot of knowledgeexperience which was great. Very understanding to the student's plight. No tests but the class is centered around bookwork which only yields positive grades when written to match the prof's interpretation. Long project at the end too. Didn't learn a ton about actual symbols and rituals though, more myths.

She has been one of the best Professors I have had thus far! She is amazing and really wants you to succeed. She not only helped me with the class, but some of the stuff she says in class helps you with challenges you're going through in your life. Amazing Person take her if you can for anything!

Comment:

One of the most wonderful professors at YSU; everyone should try to take a class with her before she retires. I cannot even begin to express how great the class was. Daily intellectual discussion, projects that allowed creativity and self expression, and mind-blowing experiences. Our class even became a small family of sorts. Dr. Tess is the best.

So amazingly smart. When she speaks you can help but be interested. She really cares about her students and tries hard to help them. She understands that people sometimes have problems within a semester and really tries to help them pass. Great teacher. TAKE HER!

Extreme liberal. won't force views on you, but will subject you to them. Believes hamburgers should be illegal. Laughed in my face when I told her I about a fact I heard on FoxNews (since Fox is right-wing they aren't credible, but liberal stations are) If u can handle it, its a super easy A(no tests!)that I'd def recommend, only cuz of the ease.

Dr. Tess is in a world of her own. One of the best teachers I've ever had and one of the best people I've ever had in my life. She is insightful, witty, and extremely helpful. I'm taking her again this fall and can't wait. She teaches you more then just the subject, she teaches you about yourself, and the world around us.
