Professor Stein has been my favorite professor at Oakland University! She is so kind and understanding. Every quiz and even our final exam had opportunities for extra credit. The only reason you could do bad in this course is if you skipped every class and didn't participate.

Comment:

Mary Stein is one of the best professors I have ever had. I previously went to MSU and took the science for elementary teachers there & hardly passed. Taking it with Professor Stein has expansively improved my knowledge in every aspect of the course. She is extremely caring & understanding. Her passion & knowledge is astounding. Highly recommend

Comment:

Super understanding and caring. Even though I don't plan on continuing with my elem ed major, I have taken away a solid understanding of science topics from this class. Lots of experiments every day, so you won't get a chance to be bored. Extra credit if you attend every class.

Dr. Stein loves to take points off of everything, even extra credit assignments. She always finds something wrong with assignments, papers, or projects. If you are absent, late, leave late,don't participate, or use your phone, you get points off. I was about 10 minutes late the first day of class, because I got lost, and she marked me down.

Prof. Stein was an awesome professor. She made the class enjoyable and fun. A lot of the activities completed in class I will be using in my classroom with my students. There is a lot of online quizzeswork, but it is engaging. I would recommend Prof. Stein and take a class with her again!

This class is very long but extremely interactive. You wont generally be bored with a lecture because you will be doing activities. She really cares that you understand what is going on and that you are getting involved. Take this class!

This is not a hard class what so ever. She is a very nice lady and is very with directions. I had a half in class and half online class with her. The in class lectures consisted of experiments. The online portion is basically busy work. Not hard just a lot of work. I recommend taking her class.

She is a sweet lady and she is passionate about science. This course requires a lot of work! 15-25 hours teaching science. 50-100 page final unit(group work). Etc.. Good class but procrastinators (like me)beware.

I am NOT good at science, but I got an A in this class. Prof Stein makes the class interesting and everything is hands-on so that you really learn. Put effort into your assignments and study for tests and you will do well. I left this class feeling like I really learned a lot!

I had her spring semester and eventhough it was beautiful outside it wasn't hard coming to her class. If you take notes and review them before the test you are bound to get an A. She made class very fun and it is all hands-on. From what I heard about other profs she is the best one to take for SCS.

She is wonderful, take her! She makes a class that is basically at an elementary level and makes it interesing and challenging for college students. She is very fair and clear. You don't have a lot of homework, tests, reading or papers.
