Comment:

Not very specific on what she expects. Weekly discussion posts which take about an hour or so depending on videos and articles you have to watch. Dont go by the example she gives because youll fail. You have to be very detailed and thorough and include all readings and lectures in your discussion post.

She doesnt specify what she wants until after you do the assignment and get a low score. Very confusing. After you understand, it becomes easy. Shes pretty nice though. Theres a semester long group project (hated my group) but we did good.

When I took this class we only had 10 people. Weekly assignments, we were scheduled to meet 2x/week but only did 1x/week. I didn't like that this was a semester-long group project but I learned a lot from it (luckily my group was great). 100% on every assignment (aside from the final presentation). She even helped me get a job!

Amazing teacher. She definitely has a lot going on outside of class but is completely willing to help outside of class. The exams are extremely straight forward along with her notes so you should do fine as long as you attend her classes.

Let me put it simply.. She had to lower the grading scale down to an 80% for an A because she was never there, and tests were ridiculous. I would highly recommend staying away from this teacher. She is a great person, but has way to much on her plate and it seems teaching comes last : (

Pennington is one of the worst professors I've had so far. She doesn't explain the materials well at all. She's also very unpredictable in terms of grading. She actually made me not interested in hospitality, which is pretty hard to do.

The WORST professor I've ever had in my life. Extremely unfair and unpredictable grading. Her office hours are completely useless since she's frequently absent. Only focused on sustainability and nothing else. Stay FAR FAR away from this professor.

Took this class for an easy A. I am in accounting grad school and I just wanted a break. The class seemed easy at first, the quizzes weren't bad at all. She graded extremely unfairly. The project needed to be 40 or so pages and we had less than 2 weeks to do it (including thanksgiving break). Rude and unwavering in office.

Did not care for this class at all. The professor was not very helpful and extremely hard in her grading. It's sad when you think you are doing really well in a class to find out you are almost failing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

One of my favorite professors in graduate school! She really tries to connect students with their interests and applies that to what they want to do with their life. I believe she will truly help anyone with a desire. Highly recommended. I'm signed up for her next class!
