I can't believe I am taking class with him, when you go in for help, he does not let you ask questions, you are just in another lecture. He is wayyyyy too smart to even teach, Never and I mean NEVER take any of his classes. He is so difficult. I am a 4.0 student and his class is impossible. Average exam scores is at the highest a 70%, no curves.

I had Professor Sprandel for Chem 171 and found him to be a very good teacher. I took the hybrid so I just had him for lab. Know how to do the problems on the study guide and you will do well. He is a stickler for the rules but I appreciate that. You shouldn't be texting in class anyway. Chem 171 is a hard subject but I managed an A.

I took this class as a hybrid which I do not advise especially with Sprandel. It's hard material anyways but he made it harder. Every question we would ask him he would reply "I can't answer that". And his grading is extremely particular and harsh.

This man should not be teaching anything, anywhere. Had to drop and lost a lot of money, only to take it again this quarter and get an A, so what does that tell you? The people praising him here have to be the weirdo sycophants who bought him a sweatshirt then signed it. They all worked really hard to get a B. WHY!?!?!?!

I'd been warned prior to taking his class that I needed to DROP while I still could and I was hesitant thinking Hey, I have a 4.0 how hard can he be? Well the person warning me also had a 4.0, she recieved a C in his class and is now retaking it. I WISH I had taken her advice and GOTTEN AS FAR AWAY FROM SPRANDEL AS POSSIBLE!!! Horrible teacher!!

Dr. Sprandel is definitely of an old school generation and he doesn't like students who don't put in hard work. Although he comes across a little harsh, he actually cares a lot about his students. Ask a lot of questions during reviews and do the pre-work and you will do fine in his course.

This guy is immpossible. He does cover everything that is in the test, but makes the questions so hard, you sure to get it wrong. He will help you out, after he makes you feel like an idiot, in front of the whole class. His testing style is difficult to get.

This guy is extremely smart but does not explain things very well. It's like he enjoys it when you don't understand what he's talking about. Hardest tests i've ever taken!

Says the same thing over and over again, so he never covers much. Become friends with Google. Also, can be very petty. I became openly critical of him during the last few weeks of class and my lab scores plummeted. ( -7 for not showing units on one question? Really?)

Terrible teacher. He is extremely unfair in grading and provides absolutely no help. If one is having trouble in lab, he replies that they should have been paying attention. Teaching style is very boring and useless. Might as well have taken it online and not had to deal with him in person.

The BEST teacher I have ever had in my college career. If you want to learn, this is the guy to teach. He is so helpful and fair. His exams are almost identical to the practice. Just know how to do everything in the practice. also TAKE YOUR LAB seriously. Make sure you get help in answering questions if need to in the lab. He grades them harshly.

Competely useless teacher. Spent one week in his class and dropped it due to how impossible he made it. Wouldn't let me make up the mandatory safety training because I had an MRI. Also, if you think that you will get out when your cell phone says its time, you're wrong. His watch is the only right one, even though it's 5 minutes slow. Butthead.

If you spend most of your time staring out the window or texting, don't study under this guy. However, if you're there to actually learn, he's quite knowledgeable and will help you if you need it. Just be advised he does not suffer fools gladly.

O.K. Pick the clause which does not relate to the other:(sticking a needle in your eye, shooting yourself in the foot, cutting your nose off despite your face, chemistry with Dr. Sprandel, or eating an ice cream cone on a hot summer day.)

What are the complaints for? He takes the time to explain everything very well, tells you what exactly will be on the exam, encourages you to come to office hours, and goes out of his way to answer questions and make sure everyone understands the material. Very good at relating the information to students.
