If your aren't trying to learn, do not take Basti. Tough teachers are always the best teachers. Basti is very tough and very unforgiving on immature behavior. She is a great teacher. You will learn a lot if you are actually trying to learn. Most of the people in my class didn't want to learn. They wanted any easy passing grade.

To start, she is very disorganized and her lectures consist of a bunch of random printed out articles from online. She doesn't state why she shows them and flips through them quickly. She's not very clear or approachable. She plays favorites. Just do your work and participate as much as you can in class to get on her good side.

Although she knows the material well, she is unable to convey it in such a way students can retain it enough to be tested on the material. The final exam was supposed to be a "jeopardy-type test, but on the day of the exam she had changed it and everyone did bad on the exam. She should NOT be an instructor at Cuesta College or anywhere else.

she is an AWEFUL teacher she puts more points in printing from the internet as HW then she does on tests. If you want to ask her a question you have to chase her down after class or call and make a appointment to see her at the offices hours or she will not be there. the lectures consisted of articles printed from the internet that she skims over.

Ms. Basti was rude during the entire 18 weeks, DO NOT get on her bad side or show up to class late or else prepare to get embarrassed or called out in front of your class. She has terrible handwriting which made taking notes impossible and her tests were ridiculous, the final was completely fill in the blank. do not take

Took Multicultural Health with Professor Basti last semester. Course work is interesting, she is obviously very knowledgeable. She has you do ridiculous research projects, the homework involves printing articles upon articles and her grading is highly subjective. VERY strange grading style, didn't give a clear criteria for grading.

I did not like this class at all. She wasn't a good teacher, and I didn't learn anything from her. Whenever you have tests she just makes you print out a ton of stuff that doesn't help you much. Her grading is very inconsistent and if you don't do exactly what she wants you get marked down for it. I'd recommend you don't take this class with her.

I took her for Multicultural Health. Her idea for a "term paper" is printing out sources. I like the way she does tests and the homework wasn't that bad. Some of the information is biased or incorrect but that's typical in a health class. She's funny and interesting.

POINTLESS AMOUNTS OF WORK! For a 3 credit class, there is way too research and projects involved. Expect 8-10 term papers and research projects that are 5-10 pages long on subjects she barely mentions or quizzes on. HEED MY WARNING!

I took this online. There is lengthy weekly homework from the textbook and essays that have to be done about every other week. If you do the work, you can get an A. She was somewhat helpful and understanding, but at times was condescending. However, when communicating through email I think things can be taken out of context- so maybe it was me.

Don't do it!!! This woman is very unhappy and she takes it out on the students.I have taken a lot of classes and this has to be my least favorite teacher in my life.She has moments that are funny but she makes up for them by lashing out at students who ask questions reminded me of a drill sgt Tons of useless busy work not to healthy looking either

Do not Take this class. All the negaive comments are true. She is rude, condecending, intolerent and insensative. Sylabus is confusing, disorganized, incomprehensible. A lot of home work and research Grading, unfair, impossible to determine, not based on text book criteria. But on Basti's biase.
