Comment:

This class required some time and effort but is an easy A. Homework is unique (problems she created) but extremely easy if you read the text and listen to the lectures. Exams are taken with lockdown browser which was not a feature I'm a fan of since it malfunctioned once or twice. Overall I really enjoyed the class.

Comment:

Probably the best accounting professor at Wright State. I went from getting D's on every test and quiz with another accounting prof and to getting A's with Maggie. She provides you with all the materials to succeed, you just have to put the time and effort in and use them.

She is awesome teacher! I took this class online. She was very organized , the lectures were great - had a lot of solved problems . Though I'm a newbie in this accounting field, I could get the concepts very well because of how she presented the topic. HW was in line with what she did in the class/lectures. Very easily accessible. Loved her!!

Mrs. Houston is a very good professor. It is a flipped classroom which was very helpful because she goes over the homework in class, making sure that you understand what she is teaching.

Mrs. Houston is an incredible lady. Quirky and passionate about accounting. There's not many grades, 3 quizzes, 2 exams and a final, drops the lowest quiz. Work handouts inside and out. She changes the formatting, so know why you do things, don't memorize the sheets. Final is difficult. Ask for help, if she gets to know you, she'll really help.

Are you an honors student? She will love you. The rest of you she won't even know you're name unless looking at the seating chart. Use the handouts provided to study. Tests and quizzes are hard and sometimes have a very unclear format. Gives lots of ethics lectures while discussing Accounting principles.

I wish I could take her for every accounting course. She's by far the best professor I've had at Wright State. The material can be a bit challenging at times, but she explains it very well. If you don't understand something, then ask for help. She's more than willing to work with you. Highly recommended!

Best accounting teacher I've had thus far. Breaks down the difficulty of the subject in ways everyone can understand. Provides a lot of practice problems that you should do repeatedly, because they are what she tests over. Willing to help if you aren't getting it. Her tests are hard and skipping class will not help you in any way. Love her.

Mrs. Houston was one of my favorite teachers. She is very helpful and really shows that she cares about her students. I was in her honors accounting class, and she let us know exactly what we needed to know to do well on tests and pass the class. I wholeheartedly recommend her class. You will learn and do well if you work.

There is no mandatory homework, which kept me unmotivated. She designs her own problems which I recommend doing over and over again because that's what she tests on. Be prepared because the examsquizzes are the only grades in her course. If you boom one exam, you've set the stage for your final grade. Good luck.

Comment:

Loved her class - and I don't even like ACCT. Took her online and she was, by far, very through and helpful if you had any questions. Required watching/listening to her power points, weekly quiz and test every other week. Lots of reading in the short time, but worth it.

Loved her though we never met. she is the nicest and most helpful lady and she wants you to do well. just follow the power points (for the online class). an A is doable but I work full time so felt a bit rushed doing the online course in 4-5 weeks. homework and quiz every week

Maggie is the most kind and caring woman you will meet in the accounting program. Take her class if you have the opportunity. She knows so much about the field and is extremely experienced. Material is hard but she breaks it down. A lot of optional homework...I suggest doing them. Also do the handouts (very good practice). Take her class!!

Wonderful instructor! She goes out of her way to help anyone who needs it. She likes to know every student individually. Her lectures are great! She broke down the harder concepts and made it easier. Acct. is not easy, but you get the grade by how hard you work. Do what she says and you'll be successful in her class and life. Take her!

Very good professor and a very nice person! She will do whatever she can to help you do well in her class. However, her class was not easy at all. Make sure you get tutoring and go to her office hours regularly if you are struggling in the class.
