Peppard has a very dark humor and always cracks jokes but is very serious about what he does. He is pretty much always available for office hours. He allows students flexibility in what they want to write about and teaches you how to write spot on thesis statements. Assignments are important to complete, always come prepared with them printed!

Professor Peppard really cares about your success as a writer and he will NOT sugarcoat anything. He is very straightforward and when he says to do something, just do it. Lots of reading comprehension quizzes so make sure you actually read! If you can make a thesis, support it with evidence, analyze, and make connections you are golden.

For my first college course, Peppard's class was amazing; it was one hell of an upgrade from my highschool English course. He provides a great foundation for literature analysis and essay writing, even if it's not your strongsuit. He has great humor, and I wasted my opportunity slacking off towards the final essay. You won't regret taking him.

The subject was great & the course was fun, the downside was there were no hard deadlines for the work & when the semester got closer to the end, the professor decided to implement some and had typos along the email reminders sent to the students creating confusion to when the work was actually due. When the issue was brought up, didn't honor date.

You may not realize what a gem of an English teacher you have until you next class. Peppard may be my favorite English teacher. The readings for the first time were interesting to me, and the teacher was hilarious. He gave us short stories to read and the next day we'd have a quiz on them. It may sound tough but its just to see if you actally read.

It's been 5 years since I did anything English related in school. In just 1 semester I feel caught up & much more prepared for everything else English related in college. Great teacher! Gives great feedback & help & makes things easy to understand. Lets you rewrite papers for new grades. IF YOU DON'T READ AND DON'T WRITE the essays YOU WON'T PASS

I never realized how great he really was until my next semester. His classes were fun to go to and he was the one that made them enjoyable. The short stories he gave us for the most part were interesting and he was hilarious. He feels very natural, the class was very casual. Easily one of my favorite English teachers.

Professor Peppard is a great professor. He is funny and makes a lot of jokes that help make the class more enjoyable. He tells you straight up how he wants his essays and if you follow that your essays will consist of As and Bs. His hw is really easy and only consists of a few short reading. Quizzes on the reading but its really straightforward.

Nice class, fun teacher. He tossed people out a couple times for not reading or using phones in class. The usual quizzes and reading, nothing too difficult. He makes the class interesting. Fair grader. One of the few teachers I would enjoy taking another class from.

Very kind, very patient, knows enough to answer nearly any question you may have, and is clearly very pleased when people enjoy the class. Lots of reading. Quizzes after nearly every reading. Discussion is also important, so don't you dare clam up. Pro tip: give him what he wants in the essays, but try and make them fun too. Good tone helps essays!

Hilarious, approachable, and insightful, Peppard is one of the best professors I had at El Co. The amount of reading may be a lot compared to other CC classes, but it's reasonable if you're trying to get ready to transfer. Peppard is not afraid to challenge his students, but he's also extremely supportive. His classes are more than worth the work.

Be willing to ask questions so he can help you! Also, make sure to closely read the novels or else you may not get a good grade on the reading quizzes, and he gives these out often.

Love Professor Peppard! Best English teacher I have had. I gave him a 5 in easiness because he gives you all the tools and materials you need to get an A. I'm not saying that there are no challenges because there are; as long as you keep up on your readings and essays, you will pass. ASK QUESTIONS. Honestly, if I did not I would have a lower grade.

He is a great prof. and is always available to answer questions in class or office hours. There is a chance for you to re-write one of your essays for a better grade but not the research paper or in class essay. Participation MATTERS it is 5% of your grade so raise your hand and don't be shy! He is approachable, friendly, and hilarious. Take him!
