Professor was alright. Gave a lot of lectures and craved participation. Midterm and final consisted of defining 2 terms and one essay. If you write what she mentions in class you will pass. Does not go by the syllabus. Takes attendance on random days. It is useful to look over the course website.

I really liked this class because the topics she went over were INTERESTING. Yes, she is opinionated, but I didn't mind because I had the same views as her. But for anyone who doesn't really like the arts, or does not like to participate every class, I don't recommend her. She really makes you think, and I really liked the texts she made us read.

I took Professor Yousefzadeh for CFI last year and it was easily one of the most interesting classes I have taken eve. I was searching if she had any other classes available for me to take because I would take her again. Yes, there was reading to do but its fine, bearable. If you do the readings, you will appreciate her lectures- super intriguing

I LOVE HER. Class is definitely not easy, but she is an outstanding professor. Easily one of the most interesting classes I have ever taken. Just read, and participate and pay attention to what she says. You can learn so much.

She is an incredibly intelligent woman but her class is not easy. There is always a reading before every class and she will find out if you have not read it because participation is huge. Be ready to engage in a debate or a long discourse about the reading for the entire class. If you are looking for the easy A, it is definitely not this class.

Cultural Foundations III with her surprisingly turned out to be one of my favorite classes that semester. She really knew what she was talking about and explained everything in an intelligent yet understandable way. Her class covered much more interesting topics than any other Cultural Foundations III class I heard about. So glad I took her class.

" super genius" professor, if it were not for the fact that she is extremely disorganized in her presentations. I felt strongly that she is hiding something, either she is not in command of the readings or she does not know how to teach them. Friendly enough, though she can be strangely aggressive...Still, one of best teachers in Liberal Studies!!!

Don't know why she's got such poor ratings. Honestly, she has respect for the students in that she expects a really high brow level of intelligence and an ability to discuss and defend your thoughts. Know the readings, participate and ask for help if you need it. Very interesting prof.

I love her sense of fashion, and she's so knowledgeable! I was quiet, too, like that last post, but I got a low B. I wish I went to office hours, since that's where she really let's her true opinions about Machiavelli and other Italians spill forth. She's such a great professor, but it make me sad to hear that she may be leaving (so says my cf prof

I honestly never said a word in this class, and got an A-. Yes, she is opinionated; but you need to get used to the fact that some professors are like that. If you just bear with her and show that you're putting forth a solid effort (either in participation or papers), you will do well.

Don't worry about reading or thinking on your own. You won't be rewarded for original work. Just repeat what she saysâ€"pretend you've thought about the issues carefully, make not mistake. When it comes time to be tested, simply give back her opinions on the exam. Voila! You get an A.

She's a really intelligent and worldly professor. Mostly a discussion-based class. You need to put in some effort and thought in order to get an A, but if you follow along with what she says you can really get a lot out of the class. One of my favorite professors at NYU.

Don't read any assignments, she analyzes everything during class, and use your notes from each Monday for the weekly response. Have a reading on your desk and take notes on her opinions for the test. One exam, in-class with two short essays and definitions. One final, an online blog or a 10pg paper.

hm, let me put it this way, every class she would ask an important question, for ex. what was the main cause for immigration from italy, and then she would say lets think about it and talk about it next week, and no surprise, the question never comes up again until you get the final and read question 1) what is the reason for immigration from Italy

She cannot teach, but is very passionate about the subject material. Really wants you to think about the material, but it was soooo boring! I actually learned quite a bit (from the book). Not recommended.

The class is alright if you do the reading. She's an easy grader as long as you make the least bit of sense. However, try to avoid her if you can because she sucks at teaching and she makes the material painful
