lectures are HEAVY and BORING, I have to drink two monsters before class to be able to stay up for the lecture. His powerpoints consist of ONLY art pictures and he just explains them for two seconds then rambles on about his trips to the locations. If you try and get up to leave to the restroom or sees you on your phone he'll call you out on it.

Professor Aguilar is great. He gets sidetracked very easily, but he teaches what you need to know for the test. MANDATORY to buy the textbook if you want to pass the class.

This class is pretty damn easy if you attend!! the people who failed never came and never took notes and complained the rest of the semester. He's straight forward with what he wants you to study! he tests from the pictures in the book and his slides. ATTEND EVERY CLASS AND TAKE GOOD NOTES! he can go off topic, but he's a good teacher.

Horrible professor. Gets off topic very easy. He only goes over 9 slides of images and on the test he expects you to teach yourself the 20-25 images on the exams.

I am currently taking his class and it is pretty great. His accent isn't that bad. I passed my midterm with an A. He only tests on what he's showing in class. If you miss lecture you will miss a big part of what's on his tests. Although he does go off topic sometimes, his lectures are pretty interesting. Really passionate about art history.

Worst professor ever, thick accent. He was very hard to understand. Just finished one of his midterm and he specifically told us we will do one chapter at a time so there will be 6 tests total. So I study all of India and nothing else. When midterm comes, boom its mostly about the next chapter we barely learned in class. AVOID IF POSSIBLE !!!!

I have taken multiple classes with him and I have to say he is one of the most passionate Professors I have ever met. He loves what he does and encourages students. He is always willing to help out with whatever you may need and always open for conversation. The classes were a bit tough, but I can truly say I learned so much.

Avoid if possible. Talks about random topics in class. Expect pop quizzes. His accent makes it much harder to learn in class.

Class is very boring. I took detailed notes of everything he said and read the book but the final and midterm were ridiculously hard. You pretty much have to memorize the book. His accent doesn't help either. Do not take this class if you are just trying to get an easy A because this class is nowhere near easy.

Gives random two question tests and if you don't get them it will count against you when you get your final grade. Gives lots of extra credit, gets off topic..A LOT . The stuff he lectures about is not helpful enough during tests there are stuff in the test that he will ask about that he didn't even lecture but are in the book. I don't recommend

Professor Aguilar is FABULOUS! Great personality, he knows his subject, is always available, and is always talking to a student in the hallway or his office. What is great about him, is that he has also researched and written books. He is the REAL DEAL! Professor Aguilar is an integral part of the art history department at CSULA!

Worst Professor! He gives you pop quizzes and gives you 3 sec to give to him, if you don't make it in those 3 sec he doesn't accept it( and your in a lecture hall!) He grades hard on paperextra credits! Avoid him or take another prof. No electronics can be used in class (phone, computer, etc.) Sometimes he goes off track.

Although he's funny and shows that he really likes his job, it's a bit of a challenge for me to focus in his class, since he goes off topic a lot, and kinda bores you. He can easily fix that and he'd be a pretty effective teacher! However, he's VERY tough on grading and the work IS NOT easy. It really stressed me out, so I might avoid his classes.

He's a great guy that is definitely very passionate about art history. He is funny and very insightful. However, his class is NOT easy. His lectures are often hard to understand because of his accent and he verbally goes through all the material at such a fast pace. His midterm and final requires you to memorize almost everything in the book

He is a very passionate professor, which makes the class actually interesting. BUT, I will have to say it is not an easy class, this is a college course so it should be challenging. It's not easy. But I loved learning about different cultures from him so that made it a great class to take. Get a seat in the front, don't miss class, and read!
