Below grading scale is accurate. He was awesome. Very lenient grading. Easy to get an A if you pay attention, do homework, and participate in class (1 point per problem solved on board added to next test). Overall a great class and im terrible at math.

Comment:

Mardy does not get the credit he deserves! He's the reason I finally understand math after 2 years of hell in HS. The HW & practice exams are JUST LIKE THE TESTS! He goes over everything in class too. 4 exams (drops the lowest) are 75% of your grade. final is 20%, half MC half short answer. 1 group project is 5%. HW counts for 3% extra credit.

Very difficult. Hes nice but unfocused. Lectures are scattered, does not tell you what hes lecturing over. Lecture examples are very simple and do not prepare you for the homework. Homework does not prepare you for exams. He doesnt explain how to solve problems, works them out on board, you copy it down. If youre organized avoid this class.

Material taught during lectures in class were different from the textbook problems. Lecture notes were really simplified while the textbook problems were word problems and more solving to do.

5 tests. 2 hours/test. Loads of extra credit opportunities. Go to every single class and be active because his lectures are honestly what'll get you an A. His study guides are bomb and he goes over the guides the class before the test. This class seriously is as easy as they come, if you actually care to try. We don't deserve Mr. Mardirosian.

You really have to do your best, no more playing around. Also, try learning the materials online as well. This class is tough but you do learn the materials clearly until the last few chapters. You really have to focus hard. The tests are 13 - 15 questions but you have to get them right. Cares more about answers not the steps. Good Luck!

This class seems easy at first. I understood all of the lecture material and the study guides, however the tests are completely different from what you learn. You really need to understand the concepts, not just memorize how to do the problem. Do not recommend if you aren't good at math.

To all the up coming students that will take his class. Beware of his exams. You can't just do the HWs and Study Guides to get 100 on his exams. You literally have to know how to solve all the math problems, serious all. So just be aware of his exams. Please don't cheat, it's an automatic zero if you do. He will catch you. Everything is fast paced.

He is nice teacher. however, he does Not care if you study hard. "He would tell you No worries you can take this course again." You just have to do well on the exams which are VERY VERY DIFFICULT AND Different on what we already learn during the class and on the study guide. More over, He teaches very fast. GOOD Luck.

Literally the best math professor I have taken at SMC. Always makes sure that you understand what he is teaching and takes his time explaining concepts. He is excellent at teaching pre-calc and explaining it too. As long as you do all the hw (which is a lot) you'll be fine. Gives out practice exams for you to work on before real exams. TAKE HIM

He is probably one of the best math professors at SMC. However, math 2 is a lot of material and we ran out of time at the end of the semester, we literally learned stuff 5 minutes before the final. You have to start out strong in this class or you will fail at the end. You can not enter the final with a C or you are risking your GPA.

Stay away from this professor! His tests are incredibly difficult. He put really easy examples on board during the lecture, but he expects you to solve 10 times harder question than he go over in class. If you take him you'll see questions on exam that neither similar to homework or lecture notes. He also tests you from the material he never teach

I took with him MATH 32 and MATH 2 courses, and i wish if i can take with him all my math courses. I know that i did not get an "A", but it was my mistake i did not correct my schedule for the class. However, you need to make afford.

Comment:

Very helpful professor that has office hours to help you if you need help. He goes through problems step by step in class and does a few problems of each type so you can easily understand the work. He gives a couple extra credit points here and there. He dropped our lowest test grade and homework is worth a couple percent. Great math professor

He is really a good professor. He is passionate about his job and wants you to learn. He starts with easy examples in lectures and makes it complicated step by step to make sure you learn the whole point and can do complicated questions. It is very important for him that everybody learns, and walks through the class to make sure everybody got it.

He is a very good prof. His lectures are good and straight forward, if u have questions u can ask and he answers them and proofs them mathematically. If u do all homeworks and listen to lectures and problems, you can get A.

I can totally understand this. He teachs slow and clear. 3 quiz 1 finals , and homework will check on each quiz, but he won't check each question. The quiz all form Homework , so if u did the homework, you will get easy A. And , a lot of extra credit, volunteer to write down the answer on the board ,2 ponit credit.
