Comment:
Dr. Schorr is so passionate about what he's teaching he makes you care. There are a few sections on tests that will require book reading. The hardest part about this class is that he can be a bit scattered. But he does offer some assignmenty things to boost your grade. This class also had some of my favorite labs I've ever done at UTC! Great class!

Hilarious professor who really cares about you when you get to know him. His labs are super fun later in the semester. It's a hard class, but it is doable. In lab, get ready to memorize scientific names for invertebrates and fish. His lectures can be a drag, but he is so passionate about his work it's almost cute.

Dr. Schorr is an amazing person and scientist-- truly passionate about his field. The thing that killed me is the way he handles the course. There was no structure to the class and bless his heart he is just very scatter-brained, which left me continually confused as to what he expected and what I needed to know for tests/assignments.

This class was Applied Statistics for graduate students. I found this class to be very difficult. There is a lot of hw but only two (open book) tests. The HW done by hand is ok but you also have to learn a statistics computer program (SAS) and it is difficult. The tests we long & difficult to finish within the time allowed. Need more tests.

SUPER nice and approachable. He is always willing to help students. Limnology tests are mixture of multi choice, short answer, and essay, and tests become more difficult as semester goes on. No grade curves or extra credit. Lab is fun and most always in the field, but the 2 lab exams are difficult. ID fish species, bugs, and macro invertebrates.

Gives lecture notes on Blakcboard. If you have an A average before the final, you won't have to take the final. The only thing I didn't like was that he crams in material the last few weeks of class just to cover it/test over it. Overall, Dr. Schorr is a nice guy to take a class from.
