Assignments were challenging, but if you could get through them and fully understand the material, you were pretty safe for the exams. Not the most helpful during his office hours, though, although it was nice you could drop in anytime. Final exam was pretty rough.

A challenging course. Might pay to take linear algebra first. Assignments are a MAJOR component. Tests were unusual in that they were largely multiple choice, but still tricky. He focuses on concepts, not just calculations. Willing to go extra mile for students! Very energetic & knowledgeable. Grade better than I expected (curved).

The ppl below me must be geniuses, because i couldn't comprehend him at all. Maybe it was just the course, but this class was ridiculous. The HARDEST assignments ever and his exams are brutal, worse than Don Page's. The textbook was a useless POS. Assumed our class was much smarter than we were. Thank God for the curve!

The hardest part about this course was definitely the assignments - start early, because they do take A LOT of time to complete. His exams aren't too bad, but they are very carefully worded, so watch out. Overall, he wasn't too bad, but I did find that at times, he assumed our knowledge was a bit higher than it actually was.

A decent prof. He knows his stuff, and will treat you fairly as long as you're putting in the effort. Assignments are difficult (par for the course, pun intended), and should be done independently if you want to learn anything. He follows the textbook closely.

i cannot believe people came away from any of his classes with any amount of understanding. he may have o.k examples in class but his exams are insane. if you want to keep your average, don't bother with his classes

Rather eccentric but highly effective and entertaining. Tends to scribble notes all over the whiteboard when lecturing but makes it clear what he's writing and why he's writing it, thus making his explanations effective. Highly recommended.
