Comment:
Took his course online, it was decent. His online lectures can be pretty long & boring, but the quizzes/review questions are gimme points as long as you put in the effort. Midterm was pretty easy, exactly like the review questions. Final was more challenging but doable.

Comment:
Midterm and Final make up most of grade. Midterm is a lot easier than final. Both are multiple choice. Homework is not too bad, some weeks the review questions are long, but quizzes are not bad if you do review. The tests are like the review questions so if you understand those then you will be fine.

Mark is a good teacher, knows his stuff. The course was hard but he tried to make it more simple and easy. The midterms and the final were all from the homework. If you understand all the homework questions then you are good to go.

This class was easy. I mastered the material on my own. However, I went to his office hours once and don't even think about asking for help. Super pretentious and condescending. Cares more about his blog than teaching.

Not recommended. This class is not organized, no ppt, had a hard time reading his handwriting. The professor spent 20 (out of 80) minutes talking about his blog. The exams were easy. But you are not allowed to use bathroom during his exams. Ridiculous.

about their "ideology" then the truth, but in reality when looking further into his teachings, found that this professor is the one pushing his far left ideology. Another ei: in our education system of a bias that is harmful to the truth.

Probably one of the most pathetic people I have ever met. Talks endlessly about his blog, thinks he's gods gift to economics and treats his students like dirt. To be truthful, he can talk a good game, but doesn't have the math/quantitative skills to teach at the PhD level. Avoid if possible.

Does a good job explaining things, doesn't rush, answers question gladly and thoroughly. The guy even records and uploads his lectures! You've got problems if you can't succeed in his classes, he does a very good job.

Had recorded lectures online, a big plus. Grades on an overall curve so it is "fair". I felt like I did a lot better on the tests than I did (especially the final) so I'm a little confused about my grade. Great teacher for people who, like me, don't going to lecture.

Worst teacher I have ever had. Borring, difficult to understand, and mainly just an ass. Don't think about asking him any questions, in an exam or after a lecture. He will simply run on about how perfectly he taught it and how you are an idiot for not understanding it.

This teacher is a total punk! His lectures are very irrelevant and no one understands the materials. If you take the same classes that he teaches, he'll assign the midterms on the same day! During the exam, he can be a jerk. He won't let you leave the room if you need to use the bathroom! You are only allowed to leave when the exam is done

How does a college student know what the real world is like? That's why they are in college right? Having taking a class and working with Mark, I can say he is a good professor. He understands how the world works. Last I checked, writing for the Wall Street Journal requires some real world experience.

Thoma is an ass whole when it comes to test. He is full of himself and has the wrong idea of how the world works. Life does not run like a college class and the sooner Thoma understands that the better his class will be.
