Her knowledge was good & I'm sure she was a skilled craftperson. However, by far the rudest most condescending teacher I have ever had. Not sure what her issue was, it's not that hard to be nice person. She once told me I was smalled minded yet I'm the extreme opposite of that. I can see how she may rub some people the wrong way, but I've found her to be among the best teachers at George Brown. She is a tough grader, but she knows her craft & is pushing the students in the right way.

Martha was tough and she pushed me to reach my potential. I finished her program knowing that I was a better goldsmith than I thought. She had good intentions and excellent knowledge of what she taught. She was the best teacher! I was offered a great job in the industry and I'm a better goldsmith because of Martha's standards!

I ran into Martha Glenny the other day, and glad I found this site. I quit the jewellery program at George Brown and sought out a more appealing school. Martha is technically proficient, but is an awful teacher. She's like the doctor with no bedside manner. She is rude and speaks to students as though they were 5 years old.

In all fairness, Martha can be respected as an excellent goldsmithing technician. However, as an instructor she is biased (plays favorites), can be rude to the point of being aggressive or vindictive, and appears to lack any courtesy to her students. It is difficult to interact with her and this difficulty affects how students learn from her.

i wish i had see this site while i was in school.i hope other students got to see her stool sample analogy. martha can't take constructive critisium, she turns purple and shakes. also she doesn't want you to give constructive critisium during critiques she only want negatives. she should learn to teach and keep her temper unter control!
