Martha Velasco has made learning Spanish fun and easier. I was definitely one of the students that struggled the most in the course be she was willing to pull students aside that were struggling and give explanations until we understood the information. Read grading rubric and the syllabus and follow directions carefully.

She is a good teacher, but she changes her own rules a lot, or just forgets to tell us something, or tells us something and forgot that she told us. Other than that I really enjoyed her class. Be prepared to do lab hours in the WLRC outside of class time. There are projects in her class, one big one. Shes also really easy to talk to and nice.

She has 2 portions to every test, multiple choice & written. Pretty straightforward on the multiple choice portion. Written, you have to be careful because she's very strict on it and you lose the most points there. Make sure you show up to class, if not, she takes points out for participation. Group project is very simple, don't worry about it.

Professor Velasco is a decent teacher. If you study you will pass. Her directions on classwork and group work can be very vague, and she might even change the criteria halfway through the semester. The class is very interactive and group oriented. It was a fun class but her teaching style is unique; it is neither good nor bad.

Professor Velasco is the best professor anyone taking beginning Spanish could ask for. Though her accent might be hard to follow at times she really wants you to learn and loves answering questions to help you understand. While the tests may be hard sometimes she offers LOTS of extra credit if you participate. I would absolutely recommend her.

I'd recommend her for anyone who has studied Spanish in the past. If this is your first Spanish course, it's going to be tough. She doesn't speak English very well, so sections of her lectures are completely in Spanish, especially toward the end of the semester. There's a fair amount of homework, but nothing unreasonable. I learned a ton from her.

Professor Velasco is extremely knowledgeable of the Spanish language, and also an extremely caring person. While the workload may be fierce, she is always there to help students before and after class. Her accent may take some getting used to. There are 6 exams, including the final, and one group project, which was challenging, but fun to do.

She is an amazing professor with a passion for teaching spanish. It's sad that she has to deal with lazy students who expect college to be a breeze. If you attend all classes you get an A on the final automatically. SHE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR OF ALL TIME! DON'T GO TO COLLEGE IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE LAZY !!! NO CLASS IS EASY THAT'S WHY ITS COLLEGE...

But She offers lots of extra credit but lots of hmk too. She truly cares about her students . Pay attention in class , participate , and do all of the hmk and you will pass..

If you've never taken spanish before DON'T take her class. I was the only one in the class that had never taken spanish and I dropped! She barley speaks any english in class and expects you to know everything already. She doesn't help you understand and homework was very hard the first week! Will be a good class if you know some spanish already.

Martha is a wonderful teacher. If you have perfect attendance you don't have to take the final. She does everything out of the work book and text book. Homework is given pretty much every class. Study for the tests, do the homework, and get extra points for writing on the board. She is really helpful and I am going to take her for Spanish 102
