Comment:
This class was extremely vague and the most boring class I've ever had to sit through. Prepare to feel confused. Her rambles are hard to sit through and sift out what needs to be remembered. I wouldn't recommend taking it.

Comment:
Participation and attendance are graded by the daily quizzes that we get, which is simple if you do the reading. There are no power points, just listen to her speak in class and take some notes- it will be very useful to the midterm & final, which is usually on the themes that she talked about in class. Do your work and you'll get an A.

There's nothing you can review from the class because she gives oral lectures. There's no power point. The study guide she gave is no use at all because only half of it is gonna be on the test. 60% of the class failed her midterms.

Comment:
Her lectures are extremely unclear and inconsistent. There is no format to her class, the textbook is useless and doesn't help. She goes off on tangents and it is unclear of what material to be studied. She gives a "study sheet" but the study sheet doesn't correlate to what will be on the actual exam. Boring class and she doesn't scale grades.

Completely disorganized and unclear in the lecture, which translates to an ambiguous exam. Way too much work for a 100 level class.

She says attendance isn't mandatory but if you miss 4 tests it will start to impact your grade. Quizzes every class meeting on the readings she has posted. It's a pretty clear cut class, the quizzes are tricky. 1 10 page paper, 1 midterm and the final. the readings are simple. sometimes a lot to get through during a weekend.

She's a rly awesome professor who will always try to help you. As long as you have a good attention span And rly tries in her class, you'll do just fine. She's also very lenient and will give you any chance to get ur grade up. Its not rly a big deal that she doesn't use any technology or stuff cuz theres nothing bad with just writing down notes.

Diaz has been one of the greatest professors I ever had the chance to work with. Very understanding and and helpful. Granted all her lessons are spoken but it gives you an opportunity to take notes and remember things better. 100200 level really easy. Project grade is a given free 25%as long as you show up. Anything mentioned can be on the test.

I've taken Diaz for 4 different RLS/AAS classes. She is an easy A. All you have to remember:: EVERYTHING SHE SAYS IN CLASS IS FAIR GAME ON THE TEST. she asks you to do very little readings which she goes over extensively in class. All you have to do is show up and take as many notes as you can. if you don't understand, just ask & she will explain

The material itself is very intriguing and it's nice to learn about others' beliefs. However, the way she teaches involves a lot of lecturing and note taking which can be a real bore. She jumps around a lot but she will clarify if you ask her to (she is a very kind professor)! She taught the material well without any bias or religious bashing.

Worst teacher ever, please never take her for any class. she is a terrible teacher and its impossible to stay awake in her class. she mumbles and its hard to hear her. the content is not for a 100 level class its way harder.

I cannot believe that we are in the year 2013, that we have robots in interstellar space, we are growing kidneys in labs, and we have cars that drive themselves, but this lady can't get it together enough to use ANY modern technology to teach her class. EVERYTHING IS SPOKEN. IT IS TERRIBLE. do not take this class. she should be fired.

There is a lot wrong with the way this class is taught. This example should sum it up though: Expects you to be able to recite Buddhist scripture from memory as an exam question. Scripture is a passage long.

THIS NIGHTMARE IS BY FAR THE ABSOLUTE WORST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN AT SBU. THERE IS NOT EVEN A CLOSE SECOND. I WOULD RATHER STICK MY FINGERS IN A PENCIL SHARPENER FOR 4 MONTHS THAN SIT THROUGH THIS HORRIBLE CLASS. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES EVER TAKE THIS CLASS.

There is no attendance required, however you have random group work that counts as "projects" and that's 20% of your grade. The exams: 30% each (even the finals) but the way she gives you the notes, it's so hard to catch up to her & you end up getting confused, honestly. A lot of studying to do, but at least there is no homework. Not an easy DEC B.

Constant note taking while she rambles on. Very unclear, jumps around a lot and back tracks. Basically she just throws out information. I don't feel like I'm learning a lesson, just random facts jumbled together.
