Comment:

One of my best professors at OSU. I am an engineering major and I always looked forward to going to class because I knew it would be interesting and fun. One of the funniest and most thoughtful people I have met. Class is not hard, just listen and take your time on the essays and you'll do fine.

Comment:

He assigned 3 readings and 3 take home exams the whole semester. During the class you do have to actively participate and sign into the attendance. His lectures were very easy though. The 3 exams had options where you could use what the books were about or had other options so you didn't have to read if you don't want to. Highly recommend!

Phenomenal teacher and person. Hardly any work, easy A, and every lecture is informative, entertaining and all around fun. He's truly an excellent teacher.

Comment:

Matt is the nicest prof I have ever had. He is so accommodating and flexible. Grade was determined by attendance and 3(ish) papers, tho you just had to write a max f 14pgs through the whole semester, so you could choose which papers to write if you wanted to write long ones. Nothing had a due date. He emailed me to ask where I was once. Love him.

C. Had an injury during the semester I had him that disrupted the class schedule, but the class still proceeded smoothly. He is an easy grader, (as long as you turn something in) but I still learned a lot about the class subject (prespectives on education).

Dr. Cariello really cares about the material he is teaching. He is one of the most understanding and flexible profs I've ever worked with (as long as you communicate well with him). Definitely recommend this course!

Prof Cariello is super chill and nice. He works around your schedule if you ever have anything conflicting with class/exams. There are only 3 exams and they are all take home prompts that you get the whole weekend to finish. Exams are super easy, and he prepares you really well for them. You also have to buy like 3 novels but no textbooks.

He's really nice. He cares more about your future and you succeeding and growing as a person, than giving you a bad grade. Would take again. I suggest Intro to Poetry with Cariello for anyone who needs that GE. You will find that he will make you appreciate poetry. Great teacher, inspirational class.

BEST PROF EVER HAD took as an easy Lit GE and literally all you have to do is go to class thats what he grades on is attendance did all my hard class' homeworks in this class EASIEST A YOU'LL EVER GET!!!!!

Class is super easy! I hardly showed up to class and got an A and I was a graduating senior majoring in business, that should tell you something. No due dates which is kind of nice. Only thing he grades are exams which are take home. You have to create poems through out the semester as well but he grades them for completion. TAKE HIM FOR EASY GRADE

By far the best class ever. We wrote one essay in 1110.02H. Our theme for this fiction writing course was adaptation of fiction into film. He was more concerned we learned how to write better so he graded on improvement from rough draft to final paper. We also made a movie at the end as a class by adapting a short story to film of our own creation

I really enjoyed Intro to Poetry. There were poems you were assigned to read before class, but you didn't have to read it. The lectures were laid back as you discussed various poems. The exams were take home papers analyzing a poem that were assigned on a Friday then due by Sunday night. However, he wasn't strict at all about deadlines.

Matt is a great guy. Intro to Fiction is an easy Lit Gen-Ed without a lot of work. Short readings to do before class which are discussed with him or in small groups. Grades are three essays which serve as exams and a creative writing assignment. The assignments are not difficult but require you to think critically and read deeper into the stories.

What a guy! He funny especially around election time. This class was great, a ton of fun, he makes you want to come to class. The short stories he assigns are fun and easy reads. He's an easy grader but you'll be interested in what you write about.

Matt is an awesome professor! He's totally willing to help students if they ask for help. The class was really easy and he told everyone that if they put the work in, they'd get a good grade. There was only two short assignments, one essay, and one group project all semester, so take this class if you're looking for a stress-free GE.

Prof. Cariello is a great lecturer; he has insight into many different realms of literature, much of which is incorporated through the breadth of the course. His sense of humor is very college-appropriate, and I appreciated his incorporation of his own short stories into the curriculum. Essays are easy with very relaxed formatting. Easy and fun!

TAKE INTRO TO POETRY. Easiest credit of my life. He's such a nice guy too, really cares about the subject matter which makes you sorta care too. No homework or reading required. Great class, plus he's hilarious.
