Avoid like the plague. Grading is ARBITRARY. Does NOT read research papers..only skims them...Spends most of class fixated on the first quarter of a chapter and then when he realizes it's getting late, flies through the last 75% of the content. I received a good grade, but I warn you...perhaps the worst Professor I ever had.

FUNNY FUNNY FUNNY! GREAT PROF. I WOULD TAKE HIM. TEST ARE TERRIBLY PREDICTABLE. I COMPLETELY ENJOYED THE CLASS. I DID NOT TRY AT ALL. NOTHING. SUBMITTED A HORRIBLE PAPER. GOT A B+. TAKE HIM. I WOULD AGAIN. JUST STUDY THE SHEETS HE GIVES FOR THE MID AND THE FINAL AND U SHALL DO WONDERFUL.

At the grad level I would recommend him, because he really does not like to give lower than B. But he is not clear, he does not really go over what will be on the midterm or final. He only cares about form on your paper not substance, if he asks for an 8 page paper it better not be 7 pages it better not be 9, even if the substance at 7 is perfect.

This guy sucks!! He's a horrible professor and shouldn't be teaching other people how to teach. All the principles of education he teaches, he himself violates. Don't waste your time taking this course; it will not help you to become an effective teacher and you won't learn anything.

Oh MY!!! I have never been in a clas like this. You will spend the 1st three weeks going over the syllabus. Then you will read the text in class every class for the first 15 minutes, and then when there is 15 minutes left of the class you might actually learn something. The WORST! Run, Run for your life. Drop the class or switch professors. Unclear about what to read, what lectures. His concern is mainly about covering his ass. Too many high school war stories - him as hero - just an **** all around. The class could have been really great with another instructor. Drop the class NOW!!!!!!

Comment:

The most painful class I've ever had to endure in my educational history. Kopelman really couldn't conceptualize the theories of educational psychology. He wanted us to interact as a group, yet always remained a domineering and stifling presence. Makes me really wonder about quality of professors that Queens College employs.

Lacked clarity in regards to Research papers. However,I loved his class and teaching method.You must be motivated to find additional information on info that he mentions in class. He demanded thought and well supported opinions. If you expect to be spoonfed or like to whine, you are in the wrong class.

OK grader-he gave me a deserved A-but he is the WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD AT ANY LEVEL. Mean-spirited, ignorant, anti-intellectual, enjoys students' mistakes.Does not really teach, rather combines reciting what the book says+asking students what they think,then jumping on their errors in logic.

Take the time to read the book and you'll do fine on his tests. Surround yourself with good people and you'll do fine on your group project. Keep your mouth shut and give input when he calls on you. Make sure he gives you a timesheet and have it signed. I got a 'B'. Same book for 2 classes.

I felt I got the most out of his class, more than any other I ever taken.He really makes you think about the issues and expects you to take a position, which helped me define and argue my points to complete clarity. The class also helped me change my mind
