I found his class pretty hard and I studied and took notes. His lectures are long and boring if I'm being honest. He is such a tough grader. If you put effort into this class you can pass but if you can take a different Professor.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! I can not make it more clear. He is VERY rude and the hardest grader Ive had. His lectures drone on, and the assignments he gives are impossible. Ask him for help and feel like youre getting insulted. Nice guy out of class but as a professor I would never recommend him.

Nothing special, really. Decent lectures, two major speeches, a couple of tests, and a few short response homework assignments. Everything has to be typed and he won't accept late assignments (or tardiness in general). Generally an alright guy, but he can be pretty sarcastic and cynical. Book wasn't helpful AT ALL.

Schaeffer is probably the sassiest teacher I have ever had. He's funny, and honestly his lectures aren't that bad, but his tests feel impossible. I actually study really hard and only can get 70's. Speeches are much easier, and even if you do poorly, he lets you re-do the speech for a better grade. If you have him for COM 101, I'd switch.

Max seems like a jerk at first. I was so scared when he was going over his grading process for speeches and I did not think I was going to pass but he actually doesn't grade harshly. HIs lectures are pretty long but he tries to lighten it up. He makes you do a group speech though so if you're not cool with that don't take his class!

I wish I would have taken his class in my first semester. Huge help, very encouraging. Tough but fair. You will come out with skills needed to deliver great presentations within specified criteria for time and content. Very professional, great professor. I wasn't a fan of the group project but it forced me to work with difficult students.

He is picky, and want everything perfect. The class was boring, repetitive and pointless. I forced my self to come to these class everyday. Hoping there was some more interactions and group work, it was just him talking all the time. Choose another teacher at least the work load from what I heard is less!

I've had Max as my professor for Two Theatre classes and my foundations of communication. He's a tough grader if you're just starting out as a freshman, but he's totally fair. I'd recommend not taking him right off the bat when you get in. But he's humorous and entertaining if you don't do something stupid like use your cell phone during class.

I wanted to like this guy. I tried to have fun with this class. It just doesn't work. Every single one of his lectures feels like 50 minutes I could spend doing something else. For something that's supposed to introduce us to this stuff, he's pushing us too far too soon. If you value your money, go take a different professor for this class. ._.

took him for communications & he's HORIBLE!He's ignorant and condescending he says he teaches from the book & gives you quizzez on nothing he tells you to read & only made you do 3 speeches which is stupid it's a speech class! hard grader & kicks you if you take a phone call while someone's doing a speech not an easy A when it should be simple!
