Comment:

She is entertaining and a nice, smart woman but she is very unorganized. She doesnt upload grades to D2L but that is less of a problem than her very unclear grading criteria and assignments. She isnt a super hard grader but her class is confusing and stressful when it comes to tests because you never really know what to expect.

Comment:

She is the worst professor/ teacher I have ever had. She gets angry with you when you ask questions, and she never stays on topic for longer than a few minutes. We talk more about her life than we do material for the class. She expects us to read thousands of pages within a few days, and she doesn't follow her syllabus AT ALL. Horrible professor.

Comment:

Not clear whatsoever. Ms. Devore is ALL over the place. We go from talking about her life story and gorillas to James Bond in a matter of seconds. She's always waiting until the VERY LAST MINUTE to tell you about any assignments and even then she's hard to understand. Nothing is Ever put into Georgia View. Whatever you do, don't take her!

Comment:

Goes off on a lot of tangents and sometimes it is very hard to keep up with where she goes. Assigns a few essays, but this never bothered me. Sometimes she forgets the due dates and pushes them back for reasons unknown. Is genuinely interested in what she does.

She's so scattered and CRAZY and half the time you don't know what to expect from her. I would not take her again. She obviously likes evolution and the Bahama's, but she obviously favors some students over others and isn't clear with the course syllabus or what she expects from you.

No tests, only a few quizzes which are over very specific material and difficult to study for and pass. She is entertaining in class but overall I would not recommend her for Biology 1108 as I did not feel I truly gained a lot of knowledge from her class.

This is the best professor I've ever had. she has an enormous passion for what she does. She understands that students are swamped so she gives lots of extra credit opportunities and no final exam! She is hilarious also. I always got plenty of good laughs. Textbook is worthless and she hates it. Weekly quizzes and she drops lowest 2. TAKE HER!

She is one of nice the teachers and very helpful. But hard to get over with tests because that will be on weekly basis quiz. Which is difficult. But class is really fun and she shares her experience. Mostly she go towards aquatic life or plants. Take her class but for nice grades depend upon your study.

Comment:

This class is for Biology Majors so expect to study. Her test are very specific at times, so knowing the material was hit and miss for me. I spent 10-15 hours per test to study and walked out with an A. I think she curved the grades because I got 2 low A's a Low B and a high C and still got an A. Review her power points once. Read the book alot.

Comment:

Class is moslty about plants, but luckily she is a botanist and LOVES plants. Teaches material well. Powerpoints get posted online, so dont have to kill yourself copying them. Tests are challenging like a college test is supposed to be, so just read the book- Her notes come straight from it. It is possible to make an A, and it is hard to fail.

Not helpful whatsoever. She often does not want students to interrupt her during office hours. This class is extremely difficult. I studied for numerous hours, yet after receiving my test score there was no determining whether I studied or not. Powerpoints given in class useless.

Dr. Devore evolution is not an easy class but if you are wiling to work at it you will learn alot and take alot away with you. She is a very nice person and somtimes she tells interesting stories i would take her again
