CRAZY OLD DUDE. But he's really awesome. He's SO laid back and I feel relaxed in the class. You don't really have to read, but it helps if you do. He talks about a lot of.....weird stuff but he's funny. You only have a few papers and he can really help if you need it. ABBREVIATED CLASSES ALL THE TIME.

Do not buy the book. He is extremely critical and mean. He will say in front of the entire class that your writing is terrible. He is too forgetful and needs to retire very soon. Terrible teacher. Terrible experience. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING WITH HIM. He made a girl in my class cry.

Nice man and a character. He appears to ramble on a lot, not structured, gives you every chance to do well. Suprisingly, he teaches you to like Shakespeare-which is a must for English Majors. Presentations are a must-brush up on your powerpoint skills and be prepared for him to interupt your presentation. Don't use google as a source!!!!

WORST ENGLISH TEACHER OF MY LIFE!!!...everyone says you will get used to him, but i def. did not! he never explains why you get anything but an A... and if he tells u to do something to improve it he always retracts his statement and makes up something else. interrupts alot, annoying, and worst english experience of my life.

Everyone gives Pwrpnt presentations throughout smstr. He does interrupt, frequently. But it is to clarify or add info for the class's benefit - he is the expert, not the student presenter. Don't take his eccentricities personaly and you will be fine. He loves to talk, and knows a lot of history and literature. I learned alot & recommend his class.

I will agree with everyone else, yes he is boring at times; yes he interrupts, yes he can be self indulgent. Overall I would say Meyers was a great professor. I had him for a summer class and purposely took an English so I could have him again. Everyone says the same things at first, but you get used to him after a short time and enjoy his class

He seemed scary and rude in the beginning of the semester- don't take it personally. Just skim through the readings and participate in class. Yes, he does cut you off a lot, but you'll be laughing at him by the end of the semester. He's really a nice man. If you pay attention, you also learn a lot of history.
