Took this class for a gen ed and didnt end up needing it. Hes very kind-hearted, but really intense with notes in terms of speed. There arent a lot of tough assignments and as long as you do the homework and everything youre supposed to an A is easy. Only thing is, he just randomly grades things without giving any context, which is annoying.

His online class was straight to the point. Just read the text and do the quizzes every week and you'll get an A. No pointless talking to your classmates, which I hate in online classes. So I was able to do the weekly assignments quickly. He also made himself available during midterms if we wanted to discuss our progress in the class.

I took him for an online class and it was really easy! There is NO final. Every week you have to write at 2-3 page paper but its really easy and as long as you do it you'll be fine. He is a fairly easy grader. The only other assignment is 2 book reviews which have to be 3-5 pages. Easy class!

It is very hard to like a professor who barely shows up to class. Almost every class has had a substitute, let out early, or has been cancelled. Other than that he is a very good instructor.

At first he is very intense and quick with taking notes but all you have to do is the connect homework due every Monday which is online homework and you watch movies in class then a one page movie review is due the week from when you finished. he is funny, nice, and understanding.

As a history major, I was really disappointed that we didn't write any papers in his class. Absolutely no visual aid, just him lecturing. Hard to reach outside of class. Arbitrary grades with no comments. We watched films a lot and had to write film reviews, not about the content of the film, but about the cinematography. Not helpful.

Lecture heavy, almost every class is a lecture with no visual aid. Assignments: work in an online book(easy), weekly/biweekly assignments on paper in class,one page film reviews. and 2 "note quizzes" that test the quality of the notes you take during the lectures for the entire semester that count as your tests. A super nice guy, would recommend.

I've taken multiple online courses with Gesin and they were all too easy. A's for all of them. All you have to do is read a couple chapters a week and email him summaries. No feedback on anything and no interactions at all.

I have taken 4 classes with him, 3 were online, one of which was an intersession. He is a fairly tough grader as you really need to nail the requirements to the tee to get a good grade; if you slack off you will get a poor grade trust me. Content is naturally very interesting and makes good use of the Aplia platform. A very respectable professor

Gesin is a very nice man. He really cares about the students and is both funny and pleasant. He starts with a lecture and then finishes with a movie. There are no tests but online assignments on Aplia (read the book before you do the assignments). He makes history fun and I'd love to take him again one year.
