Comment:

Too much work for an elective. There's class discussions, group discussions, group journals, group teamwork, and quizzes in each module, which is only 2 weeks long. Also, the professor never responded to my emails, which they claim they will do within 24 hours. Wouldn't recommend!

Took her online class and it was the worst decision ever. She gives random due dates of assignments. The assignments are not difficult but are a lot of work. The books required are better off used in the library instead of buying them. She also is rude when emailing about critiques or comments. You will pass if you complete all the work on time

I took this Professor for an online class and they just give way too much work. They dont put the students into consideration when creating so much work. About 6 assignments due in one week.

If you take her OL, be prepared for constant work. There were 3-4 assignments due every week, which was incredibly hard to keep track of, especially with the horrible way she presents the instructions. Don't bother with the writing manual (she'll ref. it in critiques but you'll never open it) and just take pics of Patterns Plus at the FIT Library.

Would not take this prof. Grades papers insanely hard. All of the work assigned is super easy, but there's an assignment due almost every single day. Finds errors in everything and doesn't respond to emails quickly. Often rude when he does respond.

I do not recommend. This professor is knowledgeable, but cannot teach. She clearly has favoritism, and if she doesn't like you- well, good luck. I loved the content of the course, but her expectations were never clearly stated.

One of the best classes I have taken. Prof. Johnson is passionate and an inspiration. Prof. pretends to be this "mean" without patience instructor and couldn't be further from the truth. I would encourage anyone interested in African American Literature to take this class. (It also helps to have great classmates !)

I took this class as an elective because I love English and writing... not so much anymore. The professor is often unclear and gets annoyed easily if you ask for her to repeat herself. Her feedback is very demeaningnot helpful, and it takes her weeks to hand back work. On the plus side, she is VERY passionate about her career.

Well.. She knows a lot about writing, grammar and stuff. We have homework every week, but nothing too hard, a journal and 5 papers. If you understand what she is talking about she is very nice and fun, but sometimes she gets mad all of a sudden and if you ask something she humilliates you in front of the class. She rolls her eyes A LOT.

I took creative writing with her, which was an elective and thought it would be fun. It ended up consuming my entire work load. She's very smart and knows her stuff, but her class is definitely not worth it unless you're serious about writing. Be prepared for the verbal abuse...she's brutal.

We had a lot to do: keeping journals, 5 compositions, two of which was a group work, also reading material and answer questions from the book, and couple of quizzes. After first two-three weeks we had only ¾ of class left. Just do everything she asks for and try to participate in class discussions and you will get good grade.
