I can not say enough good things about this professor. He is one of the nicest, kindest professors that I have ever had. Linguistics is a hard subject for most but he made it bearable. I am grateful for having him as my professor for this class.

Gonsalves is literally perfect. If you need an easy A or an easy in general take his intro to Linguistics class. I loved it and I'm not even a linguistics major. I made great friends in the class. He's easily persuaded, and an easy grader and doesn't care much about attendance. the book he assigns has all the answers in the back. TAKE HIM!

his very nice and reasonable. if u get a bad grade or no grade at all he lets u redo the paper so u can get a higher grade. he tells u the essay topics ahead of time & tells you the main points of the stories we read in class. if ur sick and cant attend class, he will email u the email topic so u can do the essay at home.

Prof Gonsalves was great.He was very easy&considerate.He pretty much tells u da essay topic b4 class.da essays in eng 1 were always comparisons btw da reading we had done. Very easy n i wud recommend evry1 to take him.U DNT HAVE 2 READ ANYTHING CUZ HE GOES OVER THE MAIN POINTS OF DA READINGS IN CLASS.I NEVER READ ANYTHING AND STILL GOT AN A

This guy has no idea about linguistics, at all. He might be not a bad English Professor, but is exceptionally bad in linguistics. He messed up my GPA, gave me A- and could not even explain why.

Prof. Gonsalves is exceptional. He is clear, nice and helpful. Readings were very light and the workload is ridiculously easy. Essays are written ALL in class, and everybody usually gets a B or higher. If your not interested in english and wish to be introduced into a college eng. class., this IS the class you want. Extremely Recommended.

He is a really nice man and if that's your concern, don't worry. Unfortunately, Semiotics is horribly boring and I don't recommend it to anyone. How many months can you spend discussing how a word comes from a thought that comes from the recognition of an object. SO REPETITIVE!!!

Very patient man. He speaks with clarity, which sadly has been missing from my other classes this past semester. Always helpful, and very understanding. You will leave this class aware of your writing skills and faults - and he will show you how to correct and improve both!

got an A-, If he doesn't like you, and yet you deserve an A he'll make sure that you don't get it by taking points off from you participation grade that's worth 10 points, so if you don'y mind an A-, and want to do absolutely no work such as me, than take him. If you want an A and you're not ESL (he likes ESL), than you're taking a chance.
