the worst professor at Suffolk so far !!!!! failed me and a few other students. I see the ratings on here clearly the students are not the problem. a taxi driver would better suit him then a professor for a living. I genuinely think he gets a kick out of failing students. if thats the case thats disgusting of him. called the dean multiple times.

DO NOT TAKE. his class is ridicously hard for American history. you have to put in work and study , but when your studying 4 times a week and you still failed , just goes to show he's a problem. studied more for his class then my other science courses. even if you answer the questions correctly , mark my words, u will fail!!! he always finds a way

myself and a few other students failed this class. American history should not be rocket science . thats how hard he made this class. I tediously studied and highlighted his course outline the entire semester to follow his guidelines and standards for papers. no matter how much related detail and depth he always FAILED ME !!! he's the problem.

please dont take dont waste your time or money. I wish I dropped the class early on the semester. barley passes any of his students, extremely tough grader, goes off topic, review sheets are no help, email him he won't answer. reluctant to answer questions about your personal grades. the entire semester was a guessing game of guess your grade .

just dont . lectures for the whole hour with no break inbetween , review sheets are barely related to test, wants time and dates for events for test or no credit. papers are ridicoulsy hard and he has no lienancy . tough grader. exams are the downfall. sounds like he doesn't want students to pass , his personality is just bad and uninteresting.

During my winter session class, I wound up submitting an essay on the wrong article, which was the only one available on my Blackboard, where all course content was posted. He told me I wouldn't get much credit b/c I did the wrong paper. I even offered to write the correct one for the next day and got told not to b/c the due date passed -_-

As a 3 hour winter session class, a break of at least 10 minutes is expected. Nope. It just droned on; I almost fell asleep 3 times. And while an intelligent man, Professor McKenna has little leniency towards genuine errors, allowing no room to fix them. Tests are very detail focused, and little partial credit is given for somewhat correct answers

SMART! Nice& SUPER cynical. Everythingyoud expect from a community college prof-class doesnt care, neither does he.. skipped stuff at the end bc of that. Youll pass if you try a bit&show up on time. Exams were the downfall-BARELY related to his review sheets, ID questions unpopular, but drops one grade& essays help supplement

This teacher is a great teacher if you put in the effort . I have to say I am really working hard for my grade . Punctuality is extremely important to him as well as attendance . I been late a few times and forgot to sign the attendance sheet because if you are two minutes late you cant sign until the class is over and most likely you will forget

I took one of his history classes over the summer. Definitely one of my most favorite professors. He was able to cram in a lot of information in a matter of a few weeks, and i seriously don't think he missed anything! very respectful, knowledgeable of his field, and his lectures aren't boring. Granted i am a history nerd, but def consider him!

3 week winter session; he's very clear about what's expected; great lectures, detailed & full of info; furnished notes for each chapter, made studying easier; read textbook, too; tests are multiple choice & short essays; no easy A's, you must study & he wants details on tests; don't be a slacker-you're in college, do the work & you'll do just fine.

honestly the worst thing i can say about his class was the tests they were honestly the hardest tests ever although he drops one test score and doesn't give any hw and only two papers which required a lot of reading so be prepared the tests are just too hard no matter how much u study just impossible idk how i passed tbh it was rough

I was not fond of this professor. His lectures are boring and his exams are hard. If you do not study, do not expect to pass. His papers are long and irrelevant. He does not even know anyone's names. Passes around an attendance sheet. Save yourself the aggravation and do not take his class unless have to. 2 papers and 3 exams. Drops 1 exam to help.

Maybe I'm biased because I love history but he is extremely knowledgeable and doesn't just read out of the book he adds his own spice to the lectures. Clear and concise and makes it interesting. One problem I had is that on the tests he requires the dates of the events which I never remembered even though I recalled the events.

Very nice man, very knowledgeable about History. You can tell he loves this stuff. Didn't find class boring. He doesn't accept late work so don't miss due dates. Drops one test, 2 papers and that was it. I could listen to him speak about West Civ. for hours. He should be on history channel or something lol

Took this class over the winter session. There were no papers. If you're good at taking good notes during lecture you'll be just fine. I didn't use the book once. He dropped the lowest test grade. He seemed like a really nice person. Almost wished it was a full semester course because he kept things interesting and was very casual.

He is absolutely terrible and a really tough grader. I am a straight A student and currently have a C in his class. His class is so incredibly boring, and it makes it extremely hard to pay attention to. Even if you study really hard for the tests, chances are you won't do as well as you expect. Do not take his class.

I love history so it was super easy. Took him for wintersession so didn't have to write the papers, but I'd imagine they're easy too. He lectures the whole time but keeps it interesting, he knows little side stories you probably couldn't find anywhere else. Study the material, bc it is sort of a lot and you'll do fantastic.
