Comment:

Adele can be sweet but for the most part is pretty bitter. She is a really tough grader and expects you to do everything the way she does it. She gives way too much homework and there are a lot of tests and quizzes. I don't recommend taking her class at all.

Comment:

Adele genuinely wants you to pass in my opinion and she makes herself available for help, I like her. That being said this class is set up a very specific way and if its not your learning style it will be difficult. There is a lot of homework to the point of stress,. I would rather spend time reviewing what I personally need practice on.

Comment:

Avoid at all costs. Exams are 80% of your grade and you don't get to use a calculator or note card. Tough grader and will take off points for the smallest things possible. On the day of the exams she starts new material and will confuse you. Exams are at the end of class and You barely get 1 hour to do them.

Comment:

Math isn't the easiest subject to teach a variety of individuals, but Adele does an amazing job at striving to provide clear and flexible approaches to the material. She supplies thorough examples and assigns helpful homework. Picture a helpful grandmother who knows math. You will leave the class feeling prepared for Calculus.

Her rating is misleading. She's actually a great instructor! Her lectures and explanations were very clear. She did study sessions before exams, which were really helpful. She answered questions kindly and thoroughly.

I hadn't taken a math class in a few years. I gave her a heads up before the semester started and she made sure to check in constantly to make sure I was doing okay. You have to do the homework and go to class, but she's always available for questions before/after class and will answer emails in a very timely manner. Fair grader with tests and HW.

worst teacher ever had at cabrillo, condiscinding, in a nutshell (FAIL)! She doesn't even bring a calculator to class haha! n this is calculus! what a joke. so frustrating i'm so stoked i don't ever have to waste my time in her class. Worst math class of my whole life!!!!!!!! She gives you hours of homework everyday, and there only worth 10% of your grade and the rest of your grade it from her tests which are written horibly and she marks everything wrong dont make any sense. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!

Terrible. Took this class a year ago- she is an insane grader, ended up getting a B in the class just for notation errors. She gives no mercy when i obviosuly understood the material. She is stuck in her crazy stubborn ways. Also very condescending if you ask questions, so no one does....

Ms. Miller is incredibly helpful and encouraging. If you put in the work, she will try to help you succeed in a variety of ways like extra help outside of class or advice on what to study (i.e., weak points to focus on). She explains math problems well and clearly, and is generous with partial credit on tests and quizzes.

I really liked Adele. She gave lots of partial credit if you attempted the problems. She negotiated your grade if you showed improvement through the semester. She really wanted to see people succeed. She had several study groups for students that needed help. I'm surprised so many people didn't like her class. I've had way harder instructors.

LOL, I had this teacher almost 30 years ago and thought she retired by now. I couldn't learn a thing from her. I took the same class from Bob Stidham and actually did well. Different teachers, different results.

I took Business Calculus. She is not good at explaining problems clearly. Tests are hard. The final is cumulative. She is not forgiving. She marks you down for everything. She is one Son.Of.B grader! The class is super boring too. Basically avoid her at all costs. Even if your an A student, you wont get an A in her class, trust me.

disclousure-dislike math like the plague but experienced: Not a hard class, but she talks and talks about the same stuff over and over, talk about repeating. Not the best with giving examples of work you will have on tests and quizzes, if you have any calculus experience might want to look else where

Easy- Definitely Not. Thorough- i would say so. She is willing to help you during office hours or come instruct student study sessions. Her tests are tough but would never present new material. For those people "yawning and doodling in class" no wonder you failed. Showing up on time, doing the hw, and studying for the test will strongly prepare you

Hands down Worst math class ever! Miller will talk down to you. She will not grade tests correctly. The class is more confusing than a German class, and it is Her fault. STAY AWAY!!!!!

If the answer is correct but you didn't do the process exactly the way she wanted...you get it wrong. Grades hard, is difficult to approach or even make an appointment with...discouraging to say the very least. I am an honor student and I should have taken the negative comments on this website more seriously in choosing an instructor.

Adele is literally the worst teacher I have ever had. She is rude to students, and makes them feel stupid to the level where I wouldn't even ask questions. Some peers and I compared tests and answers that i put down she marked as correct and others were marked down when the answers were identical. She is absolutely terrible. Avoid her at all costs.

Took her for Math 4 and Math 7 back in the day...Math 4 is a tough class in general and she teaches it well. If you make it to Math 7 you will see that she is a very good instructor. Stick with her and you will learn something.
