He's very into his own ideas in lecture, but he's very available during office hours and is more likely to explain concepts in a different way in a more intimate setting. He's delightful, one of my favorite professors

This professor couldn't be more infuriating and annoying to deal with. He is obsessed with his own ideas and doesn't give your opinions any consideration. The material is dreadfully boring and tedious to work with, one of the worst classes I've ever taken and a huge waste of time. DO NOT take this seminar, or any class with him for that matter.

the most condescending professor I've had to date, he thinks the world of his own ideas and the textbooks he uses and will declare ideas not from those sources irrelevant and often completely wrong. This style is not good for learning, especially because he does not like to teach, preferring the textbook to do the work for him

I really enjoyed this course and loved looking at films that I typically wouldn't watch. Very engaging class discussions, usually pretty basic but still interesting and significant. Very clear, good prof. Loved it!

Prof. Ma is hard to get used to. He has a tendency to get too basic sometimes, which I think stems from his desire to make sure that everyone is getting a certain level of proficiency, but it gets way boring. He does give you more freedom in the advanced production classes and the class can be as interesting and stimulating as its members make it.
