Mohammad is by far one of the most outstanding teachers Ive had, especially at Seattle Central. He is very funny and engaging, and very upfront about his ideas in a way that is educational. I signed up for Bio Anthro because I needed a 50 minute science credit but I got so much more. Attendance is not graded, but class is engaging and prepares you

Mohammed was the reason I decided to major in anthro! His perspective is really important, and if you listen and make the effort you will leave this class with a better understanding of how the world works! There was no required text for my class. To get the grade (and the most out of the class) you really have to be present in lecture and STUDY!

His lectures were interesting and the material is interesting but he's such a tough grader. I tried so hard to study and be prepared even at the expense if my other classes. My classmates who like him have only taken his cultural anthro, I took bio anthro. Maybe the material and vibe is different. I would say skip this Prof if you value your GPA!

This class changes how I think about the world and was super funny, but the grade is based entirely on tests.

Interesting man but the class was odd. It consisted mostly of online videos and charts that you could easily find yourself and he was rather vague on what would be covered on the tests. I would probably give another of his classes a shot though because like I said, he is rather interesting.

I'm a current student at UW and decided to take this class to transfer some credits. The first week seemed a little rocky so I thought he might have just been testing us. He never refers to the text or use canvas. He takes personal jabs at students during class and is very cynicle. I made this post so no one makes the mistake I made again!

Professor al-Madani is hands down, my favorite professor. So much so that Ive taken 2 additional classes with him that arent required for my degree. Hes very well spoken and has a wealth of knowledge to impart. His lectures are very informative. His tests are difficult and questions are derived almost entirely from in-class videos and lectures.

He tries to get you to see the world the way he sees it.. which is heavily ideological. Kinda dishonest in my opinion. Otherwise he's an interesting, if kooky, professor. Proceed with caution!

Hes a hoot. The first few classes he tries to scare you but stick around because he just gets better. Hes very dedicated to what he teaches which is really nice. He doesnt grade you on much but hes a very fair grader. Fully recommend, totally inspiring!

Al-Madani is an interesting man. He did a good pushing for discussion in the class however it is important to talk to him if you do not understand something or have an issue in or out of class. Relatively radical for a professor (openly criticizing academia.) If you are looking for a challenging class he is the professor for you.

Show a lot of videos & tests on content. Best to read & study video transcripts. Interesting guy but tests are weird. He does curve the tests. He won't tolerate people texting, reading or focusing on anything but him. He's intelligent and interesting man, a radical thinker.

Maybe it's just me, but he seems more intent on getting his ideas or views across than in engaging with his students in a clear, helpful way. Also seems to have a mocking/cynical sense of humor which may seem insensitive or off-putting to some. Give me love over cynicism any day of the week! Odd teacher.

Almadani might seem dry to some people, but he is an amazing professor. He will start whichever class you take with him with a warning about NC grades and the like, so he will seem hostile at first. However, engage with him, ask him questions, and he will love to have an intellectual discussion with the whole class even if it takes the rest of it.

He knows the subject very well, but belittles/demeans your lack of knowledge in such un-motvating ways that you don't want to answer future questions. Attempts at getting people to participate by calling them/us as listed: dead/braindead, rock, & martians from pluto & that we are constantly looking at him in a hostile way. Terrible Professor!!!

This was the best class I have ever taken. It really helped me understand how humans organize systems, and why certain aspects of society are the way they are. Mohammad has a really interesting no-BS perspective about humans that I really appreciated. Take this class, you will not be disappointed.

Not the kind of class you want to take if you are lazy and dont want to learn, and if youre paying for college if you are not going to class. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you miss class you wont pass because you dont have text book, and all quizzes are about the lectures and the random facts that he gives. One of the most amazing classes

I think to say Mohammad is my favorite professor. His lectures are amazing and he's a funny guy. Attendance doesn't matter and the only thing you are graded for are the quizzes and in-class assignments. The problem is that you only have a total of 8 quizzes and 4 in class assignments, which are more like micro pop quizzes. These can be difficult.

He's my favorite prof at Seattle Central. His classes are super interesting and he really makes you think about what you're learning. Skipping class with Mohammad isn't an option because almost everything is done in the classroom. Weekly quizzes or papers are his thing. Focus is needed in his classes but oh, it's so worth it!

THIS CLASS was difficult! Mohammad is a wonderful, intellectual guy who had a lot to say about his ideas and concepts of the world. In that aspect, I learned a lot. But as a 4.0 student, his class was the only class I have EVER failed simply due to the fact that he does not clarify what specifically you should know, therefor studying is impossible.
