Wanted to check ratings for this semester and saw the previous rating for Shiva. 100% false. Had the same class and Shiva said no one had dropped the course. Learned 309 and all missing topics from 203. So far he is the best instructor Ive ever had. Knowledgeable, kind, available, willing to help. Enjoyed the class. Wish we had more like him.

An amazing educator. His lecture clarifies so many confusing topics for us EE students, and he is always willing to help. If you are enrolled in his class, please take some time to review some 203 analysis, that is pretty much the only requisite to follow along his lecture and have an easy time on tests.

Comment:

The best teacher I've had at CSUF. Knowledgeable, loves to help students during the class and office hours, and outside of the office hours. Great lecturer, makes hard topics easy to understand with lots of examples and real life applications. I'll take any course that he offers. Have to work hard and do the homework for a good grade.

I just read a couple of his ratings for EGEE 203. He is the best professor I've ever had. I had 203 with him & have 309 now. Clear explanations, great notes, always available to help, excellent knowledge of the course and a gentleman. Those who don't like him are probably mechanical students who don't study and just want to pass with a D grade.

This class is basically an extension of EGEE 203, so Dr. Shiva expects you to know your basic circuit analysis. Shiva assigns homework on an almost weekly basis. The homework isn't difficult, but is worthwhile as he typically pulls one exam question from the noteshomework. Tests aren't too difficult, but you definitely need to study. Fair grader.

Terrible. First professor I've met that was able to confuse on material I already knew. No review for exams. Homework is assigned, but it won't help you on the exams, which are designed to fail all but the brightest students. For a 200 level class, he made it far more difficult than was necessary. A discredit to the CSUF faculty.

Shiva is probably the best professor CSUF Engineering has to offer. He's a genius and even better knows how to teach. Begs for you to come to his office hours and has clear and understandable lectures. overall a great professor.

Dr. Shiva is the best professor I've ever had for any EE course. He is very helpful and takes an interest in students who are willing to learn and he never hesitates to help out if you need it. He'll explain how the concepts apply to real life situations too. Make sure you study though, his exams are easy ONLY IF you know the material well.

I had EE 518 last semester. Course material is difficult but Shiva makes it easy to understand. This was my third course with him. Without a doubt he is the best professor I have ever seen, or heard of. I am doing this late sine it took me a while to find out how useful the course is. I am using the knowledge of the course at work every day.

Had a few classes with him. If you’re looking for a fun class and a cool professor take him. Learning Digital Filters is a bit difficult at first but this professor will make it easy for you to understand difficult topics. It is great to see all that he has done for the program as the Department Chair. He is a really cool guy to talk to!
