Comment:
Nice guy, bad professor. Goes off on tangents on 9/11 and JFK conspiracy theories takes a lot of time out of class. Overly reliant on MyFinanceLab, and is terrible about never giving an accurate picture of what's on exams. Expects you to learn everything on calculator, which wouldn't bad except for when you actually have to know them.

I had Sabrin for Financial History. He is a very intelligent man and a very easy grader, but the work load is absolutely ridiculous. Expect to write about 20 pages worth of essays per 2 weeks (2 3-page weekly summaries and 10-14 1-page articles) On top of those you have a 25-page term paper. If you hate writing, you'll really hate this class.

I like Sabrin as a person, but he wanders alot from the material. He lectures about current topics, not about anything on your test. There was a CEC trading log and a big research project, myfinancelab, two short memos, and 3 tests. I thought I deserved a better grade, but I'll take it what I got.

He's a really really nice guy but his lectures will bore you do death. However, they are very relevant in the real world. This class was writing intensive we had a 3 page paper due every week and 2 papers that were 15+ pages. I didn't find him to be too tough of a grader if you actually give him the information he's looking for.

Overall i think he gets a bad rep, i actually enjoy his rants about current problems, they help you in real world applications. however, he is all over the place and he isnt an easy grader, so a lot of studying is necessary.

He provides insight that you will not find in the book that is useful for any business major. He is a tough grader however. You have to decide what is more important to you, a quality education or an easy A.

Although what he talks about sometimes isnt in the textbook it is very relevant information for a business major. I think i have learned more from this class than I have in any other business class. You do have to do alot of the work on your own if you want to get a good grade but he is very lenient when it comes to extra help/extra time needed

Basically all of the comments below are correct. You will learn about Warren Buffet and the Wall Street journal, not about corporate finance. He is the nicest man in the world but he is just a bad teacher, maybe because he is too smart? The entire class did bad (besides the people who took a finance class prior) Be prepared to teach yourself!

This professor is literally the worst professor I have ever had. The whole class nearly failed the first exam. He does not teach whatsoever. His class is filled with obnoxious Ron Paul rhetoric and his reviews for the tests aren't reviews at all. We are about to take our second test and it is almost guaranteed that everyone in the class will fail.

the person below me must be in my class the test averages were 45 or 50 he said curve will happen at the end of the semester when i got my final grade i did not see bit of that. very disappointing he could have taken the time to explain rather than talking about gold and supply demand that MSNBC.com talks about. definetaly avoid at cost.

Took this guy for Corp Finance I. Does not teach-reads from slides. Keeps you to the last minute of class time-even if it mean talking about something that is not relevant to the coursework. Class Average was a 50-said he was giving curve, i didn't see it when i got my final grade. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. one of the worst professors at Ramapo.

Really nice professor but his class was very tough. Took him for Financial Markets & Institutions and students should be aware that this class requires a lot of time just to do weekly assignments (3-4 page paper due every week & HW due every class). You also need to be able to teach yourself out of the book for exams.

i agree with the comment below me. he knows his information but he has problem distributing the information to the students. think twice before you major in finance or taking his class as a requirement.i mean he is a sweet guy but impossible to pass. this is the lowest grade i have ever gotten in college. goodluck

Although he knows his information, he has problems getting it across for students to understand. The tests are extremely hard and it was not uncommon for the average to be in the 45. He was the lowest grade I ever got at Ramapo and I sued all the resources I had to improve my grade. If you take him, prepare for a low grade.

Dr. Sabrin was an awesome teacher. He knowns what he is talking about and explains things very cleary. You always leave class knowing more about the subject. There is a lot of group work involved. Lot of extra credit also. He is overall great professor.
