He's a good teacher, the class is a little boring but if you read the book and read his notes, you'll be fine :) He's such a genuine teacher, he really wants his students to pass the class and he is VERY helpful. Definitely recommend.

The class is not very interesting but it's the topic and not the teacher. His a good teacher and nice guy! All he teaches is an extension of of what you know... math for economics, econometrics, etc. Pay attention and/or view his notes and you'll be fine! If you don't you'll fail like any other class!!

He is a really nice guy, particularly during office hours, but the class just isn't very interesting. I had a issue with how he likes his students to answer exams, he prefers answers to be very very wordy rather than mathematical, but thats more of personal preference. I regretted taking this class but I can see how some would love him.

It's not the easy class that everyone anticipated, he's a lot more strict from what I remember when he taught Econ 222. Simply memorizing the notes doesn't cut it anymore I guess and it's going to require some of your own extensive research. The class average was around a C+ and there wasn't too many A's.

Comment:

Many students were doing well in the past but because of recent pressure from the department he had to be a more strict on the grading. To get an A you really need to incorporate the material from the articles along with his lecture notes (overwhelming majority of students didn't do that). I did very well because I had a lot of time study.

This is a hard class. Professor Islam is your best hope at getting through.. He will teach the subjects to you until you get it in your head. Work hard in this class (again its not easy) and professor Islam will make sure you do well.. Very Nice person.. Really cares for his students. Highly Recommended
