Comment:

Very knolegeable, however very he talks down to students. He especially talks down to the class due to the fact that we are going to the exact law school he is teaching at, which is kind of dumbfounding. The exam wasn't too hard unless you didn't do the needed work to pass. Otherwise it's your own fault. Thank God he's retiring.

Stockmeyer is truly a professor of contract law. You will know up front the expectations of his class. No questions, ambiguous ideas or comments go unanswered; he teaches you to answer yourself. Keep on top of definitions of terms, read, brief and participate...a tough prof, but hey, you are in law school and that is expected. Enjoyed K1.

Great Professor. I did not get the best grade, but I cannot complain because Prof truly wants his students to succeed. If you fail, it is only because you failed to put in the work. Prof is very intertaining, which helps relate & remember the material.

Take him only if you have no choice. Teaches like it is the 70s. Sit in the back, shut up, and hope you only get called on once. Do all of the multiple choice he gives you. His essays are a crap shoot. Really a bad prof and is only around b/c Cooley accepts so may people. Ditch Stock if you want to transfer because he is terrible

He is a difficult professor and will grill you if you are unprepared. He calls on everyone at least twice. Be sure to write answers to all of the problems on the assigned pages in IRAC and to type/write out your briefs (he doesn't care for book briefing). I did fine on his exam but many did not. Do the work!

The legend!!! He will make you think on your feet and analyze in detail. super old school! this guy does not mess around, he will grill you until you get it. be prepared or ohh boy you in trouble. He is a must take professor if you really want to become a good lawyer and know contracts. You want a preview of him rent the movie "the paper chase".

I personally liked him. Many of my classmates didn't. For me, he required me to be prepared for class because I knew it would be hell if I was called on and wasn't ready, therefore, I worked hard and helped. Strange final exam, but very similar to practice exams. Study pack was a waste because its old and he admits it isn't the same.

Excellent professor, but tough. YOU MUST BE PREPARED FOR HIS CLASS. He will embarrass you if you are not. Gives students everything they need to succeed, and his lectures (though often full of tangents) are very funny and clear. I strongly recommend him, but you will not do well if you do not do your work or make significant efforts (on your own).

Didnt miss class, went to all TA sessions, did all reading, all non required work that was suggested including writting essays out, doing as many MC as possible. Get to final, and its like being hit with a ton a bricks. Not cool at all. DROP ASAP.....

ok... here's the good and the bad about Stockmeyer: The Good: He really explans the material, throws jokes here and there and if you do ALL the work, plus you attend hs TA's reviews.. you'll do fine. The BAD: better be on time AND prepared cuz you'll be embarrassed! he's "paper chase" type of Prof! there are rumors that he has never practice law..

I'm in my third year, and Stockmeyer is by far the best professor I had in law school! He's tough, expects you to get the work done, he will not try to be your bestfriend in class- but when the term is over, you will know Contracts! He is an exceptional teacher- caters to different types of learning, makes the material interesting, and clear!

GREAT AND I MEAN GREAT PROFESSOR! You are given all the tools you need to pass this class and a TA who sits through all the classes and can help you outside of class! The final is difficult, however; if you do as Professor Stockmeyer suggests, then you will be fine when the final comes! Professor Stockmeyer cares about his students!

Knows the material AND has a knack for teaching. I enjoyed the class. I can guarantee any negative comments are because people don't like to work hard and read and breif assignments, then they get called on and grilled old-school style. PREPARE for class, and you'll look forward to going up against Stockmeyer when he calls on you. Great professor.
