If you rather have no h/w than actually learn something without voicing your opinion whatsoever or having a opinion for that matter then good luck

The class was interesting....the topic was more about the transcedent and dying versus love, life, or liberty. But it was still not bad. You need the book for the few assignments. The paper is a minimum of 5 pages and you can basically choose any topic. He is big on talking. Perfect for a summer class, probably not a semester long.

Professor is a good grader, assigns a lot of small response papers, his goal is to know that you UNDERSTAND the material.. great goal, however I feel a lot of time he is preaching his opinion instead of answering questions.

Great professor! very understanding. There is not a lot of hw. In the beginning he will assign readings and you will have to write responses but that is it. He basically tells you what is on the midterm, and your final is a presentation. Classes revolves around him talking / discussion with the class.

Great Professor, a TRUE professor that if you take the time to actually listen, he will open not only your eyes, but your mind to the material. Don't listen to those people who claim that he has no control, or that he tells you what to think, You think what you want to think, and he gives you the opportunity to share that.

By far the best teacher ive had at monmouth. always helpful in and beyond the classroom. this man is a true professor, not just an instructor. if you have an open mind i highly recommend taking his classes. he creates an environment conducive to learning unseen in any other course here.

hands down the best teacher i have ever had. Not only did i learn the material that was being taught (simply by sincerely listening)but i also was able to derive a meaningful lesson that i could take with me out of the class room. He is not only a teacher, but also a master and a mentor; and a true philosopher, who knows everything!

Prof. Simonelli was a really cool guy and made great points. The person under me probably liked him a lot too. I think that our class specifically just ruined it for all of us. We had a bunch of druggie-anti religous people in our class that would ruin class debates.

I hated this class. It's by far one of the worst and most boring classes I've taken at Monmouth. Dr. Simonelli makes some interesting points, but he contradicts himself. He also has no control over his class and does not know how to focus on his topics for each lecture.

if you're serious about philosophy, do NOT take this class. he teaches all indian religions as if they are indisputable. don't ever try to argue against him because he'll make an incoherent argument and tell you you're wrong. worst class so far at monmouth.

Had him for Intro to Philosophy, and when I say he lectured about nothing for the entire semester, I'm not joking. There are four reaction papers that you need to do but I don't think he grades, along with a midterm that you'll need the book for and the final is a 5-10 page paper and presentation. Very boring, but not hard at all.

Enthusiastic, inspiring professor. I had him for HS101, HS102, PL/RS277 and PL/RS216. Definitively recommend. If you really want to know, he is the man. Reasonable, impartial, gives chance to improve grade. He will repetedly explain, in class or office. Be interested and participate, he will reward you. TAKE HIM, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.

He is such a great person, really nice very caring, but his lectures are all over the place. Honestly, its almost impossible to pay attention. He is very repetitive. His exams are kind of out of the blue, because he talks about the same thing every class and then the exam is on something different. I dont recommend him.

sweetest professor ever! a little hard to understand and his lessons are confusing, but he gives study guides for final and midterm (the only 2 exams whole semester) which are the actual test itself and he goes over them in class before exam. only assigns one paper that you need to present. pretty easy grader.
