He is an incredibly nice and friendly guy. Obviously, this stats class is NOT for the mathematically inclined- and he knows this. He makes the class as user-friendly as possible. The tests are CRUCIAL in receiving grades. Go to class, take notes, and you will be fine. It is 100% possible to get an A in this class.

class consists of 10 online homework assignments that involve no brain power. then there is a midterm and final that you get to use a notecard on. as long as you pay attention in class an A should be attainable. I've never did the homework and the tests were easy. He is a quirky professor, but he's very funny. wants you to do well in the class,

Comment:

2060 is a stats class so everything builds on what you learn early on in the semester. Technically class isn't mandatory but he does do homework assignments periodically which are a fair percentage of your grade. The classes are pretty boring just cuz he's long-winded. Overall tho, he's willing to help and the class isn't hard if you pay attn.

Incredibly boring class, that being said he tells you everything you need to know for the test.EASY homework assignments worth 10% of grade+ 2 exams.He allows a flashcard that you can bring to exams with equations that you need for the exam.GIVES YOU exam q's and the answers if you go to class. Only changes the #'s a bit 4 the exams.

Most assignments are pretty easy. There are two tests that you need to study for because there's a lot of info. He has a boring teaching style and is a bit awkward in class. The project for the class is a little time consuming and I didn't enjoy it cause it wasn't very organized.

Holstein is, without a doubt, the worst teacher that I have had at MU. Sadly, I had to take him for SOCI 60 and 104. The Stats class was an easy A. One of the first things he said to us was "people who don't come to this class can get As". The Research Meth class was impossible. Only take it if you absolutely have to. We spent a month or so on a project that made no sense to us in the end. The tests are hard and questions are worded unclearly. You are tested on a a few things he touches upon in class but mostly what is in the textbook, which you have to teach yourself. His study guide is a list of terms from all chapters.

This course is very easy. It is really elementary math. For some, it might be hard, but if you can understand 8th grade math, and have some common-sense about the world, this class is simple. The classes are boring, but he does explain things if you have questions. There are 2 tests (30% and 60%) and random homework (10%). It's an easy A.

If you like mind numbingly boring classes where it is impossible to pay attention, take this professor. Otherwise, avoid him like the plague! He doesn't actually talk about anything of use and talks in circles. He scibbles things on the board, and makes no reference to what they are. plus, he sounds like George Bush, a big downer.

This guy is rabid. He writes all over the board like he's got a sugar fix. Funny thing is that nobody understands what he's writing. You look around the class and there are just blank faces. He's got to be more in tune with the class.
